“I think that if I were required to spend the rest of my life on a desert island, and to listen to or play the music of any one composer during all that time, that composer would almost certainly be Bach.”
* Good luck with that, Anne: hopefully, it’ll go smoothly! (If you can message me the link on Twitter, as and when? That’s the best way of doing it.)
† You’re not the first person to suggest that, Olga: a gift voucher’s a good idea. I keep thinking a subscription to the various online services would be, too: although — obviously — there’s elements of child safety to consider, there! It’s a whole other area, that. (I do know Bowling for Columbine’s the second Michael Moore film. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled. And getting the toast done …)
‡ It could be worse, Debbi, the Speaker of the House could be taking part in impeaching the President: after he tried coercing a foreign leader. Oh, wait …
^ I know it’s an older spelling of ‘domestic.’ But I keep wonder what on Earth a dome stick is …
Q1) Bill Cosby Q2) Saturday’s Hero (he was a favourite of my father’s and I do love Battle Cry) Q3) Seoul Q4) Marcus Claudius Tacitus Q5) 1690 Good luck with the Play Station and the long hours. I watched Moore's Roger and Me, that's quite interesting as it was about the changes in Detroit (where he is originally from) when the car industry went into a nosedive... Recently, here in Spain, at least, they've shown one of his more recent documentaries, where he pokes fun at the idea of the Americans going to invade other places, but makes interesting points about what they could learn from other countries. Very informative, indeed (from education to the way Norway runs its prisons, for example). "Where to Invade Next" it's called. I guess he has just released a new version of Fahrenheit 11/9...
And I've just realised that, of course, his other documentary (that I watched a long time ago) was called Fahrenheit 9/11, and this one is 11/9... It makes sense.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
