“If we discovered that we only had five minutes left to say all that we wanted to say, every telephone booth would be occupied by people calling other people to stammer that they loved them.” Christopher Morley.
† Oh, dear … Possiblegeneralelections, Olga … Parliament’s debating one as we speak. It’s going to take weeks. What IS the Spanish word for logjam? Because it sounds we’re both staring at one! I still think trying those Catalan politicians is … unwise, at least. And guaranteed to cause long term resentment. You have to love a feedback loop … (Oh, did you catch the item about left handedness? It seems to confirm the schizophrenia link.)
‡ I don’t think, Debbi: therefore I’m not! Ummm … Did that line work … ? (Oh, did you see the bit about left-handedness? That grabbed my attention.)
Q1) 1959 Q2) Bristol Q3) operator Q4) 1 shilling Q5) Red Q6) Kingston upon Hull Q7) I’m not sure about this question. You could use a card (although they had changed some of the phones in red kiosks to introduce that), you could use it if you were on a wheelchair as well…. Broadband came later, so I’m not sure… Q8) Doctor Who Q9) Phone Booth (I found the movie rather silly. Yes, it has a good pace, but the ending I found quite silly. Really? With so many criminals and horrible people why pick up on somebody like him?) Q10) Mobile phones Oh, we shall see about the elections. (By the way, atolladero is a possible translation). There are some positive moves and some very stubborn people. Thanks for the video (well done!), and interesting about left-handedness... We know so little about genes that it's difficult to tell what anything means. It's a bit like statistics at this point. It's all down to interpretation. I'm not sure if you caught the information about Blanca Fernández Ochoa. They've found a body and it seems to be hers, but the circumstances of her death are far from clear. Sad news. Oh, good luck with the interview if you decide to go, although I fully understand your reluctance given the circumstances.

hello, my day is entertaining, been for a walk some exercise, my ex mom inlaw is back out of hospital again, she had issues with her heart again. I think I'm still living in the dark ages, I still use call box when out, as I don't own a mobile yes, mom tried to get me one but I'm, not that bothered. I have a landline but never owned a cell phone in 7 years lol
I'll have to take a look at it. That video from the House of Commons definitely got my attention. :)

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
