I’m helping my kid sister on an educational trip to the ExCel centre in London: for their New Scientist Live event.
We’re not the only family members there, I think.
If you see Richardson and Richardson Jewellery store, there?
For starters, go buy something: they’ll have something that grabs you.
And secondly? It’s run by Wendy, my cousin Dean’s wife, and their daughter, Hannah. Who’s either my first cousin twice removed, or my second cousin once removed!
Isn’t life complicated … ?

Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Badwolf*, Olga†, and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Debbi and Olga scoring five out of five, And Anne on four.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
† I honestly couldn’t tell you, there, Olga: I’m assuming the BBC article is based on the Gang’s arrest, rather than their underlings. What can I tell you … ? Bar ‘You’re right about head and heart decisions!’ At any rate, I’m glad to have sorted out the straps. It’s only when the nurse pointed it out, on Thursday, that I realised the straps had the brand name on the back … and that I’d been wearing the lettering upside down … ! I’m getting a look, aren’t I … ? (Oh, I’ve discussed the CV with the Job Centre: they agreed with the idea.)
‡ And they didn’t air The Young Ones, Debbi? That’s possibly disgraceful! Or possibly understandable. (Oh, Christopher Ryan, who played Mike the Cool Person, crops up as General Staal, so you know …)
Q1) 1810 Q2) Munich Q3) Bavaria Q4) beer Q5) It seems the Maß is actually the measurement or the unit (a bit like a pint in England) but it’s sometime used as a one litre glass mug … I don’t like beer but there is an Oktoberfest going on at the moment here as well… I imagine it must remind you of your time in the pub business. Good luck with everything!
I suspect Americans might have been confused by the word "punter". :) That's one I figured out pretty much from context and still looked up to be sure!
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
