Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 3rd February, 2021.

3rd February, 2021.

Right …

The Universal Credit website is back up.

Thankfully.

I have to admit, I’m still curious to know what happened …

~≈®≈~

Frankly?

Right now, the weather’s … well, not damp.

But certainly looking unpleasant.

Which is awkward: I’ve an appointment, today.

Yes: I’m officially getting old enough to need my feet checked!

~≈®≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Trevor*, Olga†, Mum‡, Debbi^ and Edithª putting in their answers: with Olga, Trevor and Debbi on five out of five, Mum on four, and Edith on zero.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1)        3rd February, 1690, saw the Massachusetts Colony introduce paper money.   What was the money called: the Massachusetts pound, dollar or yen?

Q2)        3rd February, 1931, saw an earthquake hit Hawke’s Bay. Region, and ’quake were in which Australasian nation?

Q3)        3rd February, 1988, saw UK workers go on strike for better pay.   Which workers: train drivers, nurses or teachers?

Q4)        Composer, Felix Mendelssohn, was born on 3rd February, 1809.   In what’s now which European country … ?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Painter, Norman Rockwell was born on 3rd February, 1894.   In which US city: Chicago, Los Angeles or New York?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

A1)        Candlemas.

Q2)        Jesus was supposed to be presented at the Temple.   The Temple concerned was in which Middle Eastern city: Damascus, Aleppo or Jerusalem?
A2)        Jerusalem.

Q3)        In some Christian traditions, you have to remove what on this day: Christmas decorations, old clothes or curtains?
A3)        Christmas decorations.

Q4)        What’s supposed to be blessed on at this feast: candles, lamps or wicks?
A4)        Candles.

Q5)        Finally …?   The feast marks the end of what: Easter, Lammas or Epiphany?
A5)        Epiphany.
Here’s a thought …
‘Let me recite what history teaches. History teaches.’
Gertrude Stein, February 3, 1874 – July 27, 1946.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Feel free to share today’s video Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Possibly, Trevor!   She’s in the office, one day a week, and working from home the rest of it.

†        It’s seems to be sorted out, today, Olga.   I’m hoping it means someone’s pulled the wrong plug out, in the datacenter.   Rather than the things been hit by ransomware!   Or had a data breach!

‡        Hello, Mum!

^        I’m not too worried, Debbi: just a little concerned.   And hoping there’s not been a data breach: I‘d rather my bank details weren’t nicked!   (If that’s happened?   I think the Job Centre, and the DWP, the department that runs it, would see riots.)

ª        Morning, Edith.   How’s the day going … ?   I hope the weather’s improving!

Good news, and fingers crossed (Considering how many people seem to have no idea of what they are doing, it is likely somebody pulled the wrong plug). ;)

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.

*   I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
