Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 28-3-2021: Lady Gaga … !

28th March, 2021.

It’s official: it’s now British Summer Time.

In other words, and if you didn’t know?

The clocks went forward, overnight.

Why?   I still don’t know: despite it happening for most of my life.

If you’ve a good lay explanation of why we give ourselves mild jet lag, every year, I’d love to hear it.

~≈🕰≈~

Have you been watching the situation in Myanmar?

The Army has taken power in a coup that started in February.

Yesterday?   Saw the highest number of killing in the Troubles.

The crackdown’s included the military’s shooting of children.

That’s …

I’m sorry … but if you start killing children as part of a campaign?

That invalidates any moral or ethical argument you may have had on your side.

~≈⚰️≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Trevor*, Olga†, Mum‡, Edith^ and Debbiª putting in their answers: with Trevor, Olga, Mum and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Edith on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1)        28th March saw the birth of Stefani Germanotta: also known as Lady Gaga.   In which year of the 1980s?

Q2)        Her first album was released in 2008.   What was it called: The Fame, Born This Way or Artpop?

Q3)        Her first UK №1 was in 2008: and called Justwhat

Q4)        Gaga played Ally Maine in the Oscar winning film, A Star Is Born.   What Oscar did the film win: Best Picture, Best Actress or Best Original Song?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Gaga played the Countess in the fifth series of American Horror Story.   That fifth series is known as what: AHS: Hotel, AHS: Asylum, or AHS: 1984?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) The world’s first international Rugby match took place: on 27th March, 1871.   Between England and whom?

Q2) Was that game what we now call Rugby league, or Rugby union?

Q3) The game was played in which city: Edinburgh, Cardiff, London or Belfast?

Q4) Accordion to Wikipedia’s entry on the game, each side had how many players: 15, 20 or 25?
A4) 20.   (The game was played to Union rules: the only difference, from what I could see, was the size of the on-field team.   Modern Rugby union has 15 to a side: compared to Rugby league’s 13.)

Q5) Finally … ?   Which side won?
A5) Scotland: by two tries and a conversion to one try.
Here’s a thought …
“I’ve gone bankrupt about four times now.   Every dollar I earn goes on the show.”
Lady Gaga.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Feel free to share today’s video Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        I’d imagine it would, Trevor: the Vatican’s art collection’s extensive!   Glad to hear you’ve managed to sort the phone out.   Now … can Debbi, Olga and I persuade you to try out Twitter or Instagram … ?

†        I had heard that, Olga: as far as I know, it was being used in one or two posh public schools in London.   And possibly in Swiss finishing schools!

‡        Hello Mum!

^        It’s just as good, Edith!   Actually, did you ever hear an old Billy Bragg song called New England?   He did the same thing, added a verse, for Kirsty McColl’s version.   (Kirsty’s version is sad: she died at WAY too young an age.)

ª        That I will, Debbi!   (Oh, as I mentioned Kirsty McColl to Edith?   Did you ever hear In These Shoes?   It’s superb!)

Yes it is a big book with many of the larger paining such as the one on the ceiling of the Sistine Chappel shown both in full and in many detailed areas as well. As Penny said they manage to paint young boys very well but some of the females were not so well painted.

She and some of her Lady friends used , before lockdowns, go to Painting lessons on a Friday morning. I did go to see their Art exhibition in one of the shops in the Shopping Mall in Basildon a few years ago.

You're right about Myanmar. What a nightmare! I hope Trevor joins us somewhere else. Must admit I'm rubbish at taking pictures, so my incursions into Instagram tend to be just to check what other people post (and to support friends, Sants 3 Ràdio, the local radio station, and little more), but it works for that. I sympathise, though. It just gets impossible to be everywhere and follow everything, and there are more things in life, one hopes! Oh, I love "In These Shoes". It cracks me up every time.

British Summer i believe was started in WW2 to help farmers, so the mornings were lighter for them to work and get in much needed crops.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
