Sunday 6 March 2022

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6th March, 2022.

6th March, 2022.

Yep: it’s thumb twiddling day!

I’ve actually got a Sunday where I’ve little to do: beyond finishing a batch of videos.

I’m fully expecting to be twiddling my thumbs for a bit.

Or, at least?   By writing up seem bits for my, eventual, reviews of the current series of Star Trek: Picard, and Star Trek: Discovery.

We’ll have to see if I can start watching those, soon.

~≈§≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1)        6th March, 2000, saw the death of actor, John Colicos.   He played Count Baltar in which series: Star Trek, Mission: Impossible or Battlestar Galactica?

Q2)        Shaquille O’Neal was born on 6th March, 1972.   He’s a retired player of what: baseball, American Football or basketball?

Q3)        6th March is the feast day of Saint Colette of Corbie.   Where IS Corbie: France, Germany or Belgium?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        5th March is Learn from Lei Feng Day.   Where: China, Japan or North Korea?
A1)        China.   (He sounds a little like Big Brother, in Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four.   There’s plenty of documentary evidence that say he existed, including photos … but no-one ever met him … )

Q2)        5th March is Saint Piran’s Day.   Saint Piran is the patron saint of whom: tin miners, coal miners or gold miners?
A2)        Tin miners.

Q3)        Elisabeth Moore was born on 5th March, 1876.   She played what: tennis, badminton or squash?
A3)        Tennis.

Q4)        On the Revolution of Heavenly Spheres was banned by the Roman Catholic Church: on 5th March, 1616.   Who wrote the book: Isaac Newton, Nicolaus Copernicus or Albert Einstein?
A4)        Nicolaus Copernicus.

Q5)        Finally … ?   Pope Francis stated a Papal visit: on 5th March, 2021.   To where: Iran, Iraq or Israel?
A5)        Iraq.
Here’s a thought …
“And if the big dog ain’t me, then the house won’t get guarded — period.”
Shaquille O’Neal, born 6th March, 1972.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

The quizmaster’s decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   Thanks for dinner, last night!

Playmobil … ?   Good lord, is that still being made, Olga!?   Well, I never!
That it has, Olga.   Remember me mentioning an operating system called ReactOS?   The one that can — in theory — replace Windows?   AND use Windows apps?   That’s the ones various Russian government bodies have been interested in …

I’l have to put that on my Watch Later list, Debbi!   Too many shows, not enough time!   What DOES that sound familiar … !?

Oh, yes, Playmobil are not only being made, but they are very popular. There are FunParks and stores in quite a few countries, and even YouTube Channels. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playmobil
The dioramas were quite impressive. I'm not sure how many of the pictures they'll show with the news item (the camera ran out of battery, so I haven't even managed to look at the pics myself), but if there are any interesting ones, I'll tag you or share the link, so you can have a look.
Today I ended up playing some football for International Women's Day, with the radio. I was only supposed to be there for support, but we were short of players. I don't even like football, so let's not talk too much about it. Well, I survived (so far)!
I hope you enjoy your quiet Sunday.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
