Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 7th March, 2022

7th March, 2022.

Right … it’s a Monday: the start of a whole, wonderful new week.

Full of promise, hope … and possibly a little too much optimism!

At any rate … ?

I’ve a meeting with my Job Centre: by phone, thankfully.

Hopefully?   I’ll be able to raise some concerns I have: after a recent incident with a job I applied for.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video

Q1)        7th March is Teacher’s Day.   Where: Albania, Bulgaria or Croatia?

Q2)        Lucius Verus became joint Roman Emperor: on 7th March, 161AD.   Joint emperor with whom: Augustus Caesar, Marcus Aurelius or Constantine the Great … ?

Q4)        Ranulph Fiennes was born: on 7th March, 1944.   He’s a what: actor, explorer or xylophonist?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Rik Mayall was born on 7th March, 1958.   Who did he play in The Young Ones?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        6th March, 2000, saw the death of actor, John Colicos.      He played Count Baltar in which series: Star Trek, Mission: Impossible or Battlestar Galactica?

Q5)        Finally … ?   6th March, 2015, saw the Dawn Probe start orbiting 1 Ceres.   1 Ceres is currently defined as a what: planet, dwarf planet or asteroid?
A5)        Dwarf planet.   (It had been classed as a planet when originally discovered: then re-classified as an asteroid in the 1850s.   It was then re-re-classified — as a dwarf planet — in 2006.   One day, scientists will make their minds up.)
Here’s a thought …
“Insanity is a very high art form.   If everyone was insane, I wouldn’t be here!”
Rik Mayall, 7 March 1958 – 9 June 2014.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

The quizmaster’s decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

That sound’s vaguely familiar, Olga: I think Lego’s been doing the same sort of thing for some time.   Even down to the stop motion animation.   And dioramas are always something to see.   We had a branch of Games Workshop in town, at one point: the ones in branch were quite something.
Football, eh?   I hope you behaved … when the ref was watching!

Well … Google Translate agrees with you, Debbi.   But you know what that’s like … !!!

Q2) Marcus Aurelius

Q3) Submarine

Q4) Explorer

Q5) Rick
Yes, I can imagine the Games shops. At the fair, they had some fabulous Diorams, one about Napoleon's Russian Campaign that was fantastic, one on Jack the Ripper's London, and a gorgeous Steam-Punk one (and other historical ones as well).
I think I prefer the philosophers' football to the one we played. My left foot started hurting really badly last night, although I didn't notice anything while we were playing, and although it is better today (and not swollen), it is still sore, so that will teach me.
Good luck with the call.
We had a listening task involving transport announcements with Jordi today. He is making slow progress, but progress nonetheless.
