Which is possibly a good thing.

It’s also a day when I’ve got to go to town at least one more time: to pick up some medication.

The one upside to all this?

*        I’d love to hear about it, Olga.   It’s also tempting to tell you Pétanque’s a load of old boules … but don’t know if the joke would play well in Spain!

        To be frank?   I think you’re right: mixed teams should be feasible.   Most of the darts teams I saw when I was in the pub trade, usually had one or two women in them: yes, there’s Ladies tournaments, but the game’s usually about accuracy, rather than strength.   I say that … but it’s only in the last few years women players have taken part in the Snooker World Championships.

        (I think the remake of The Omen was fairly good.   But the soundtrack was nowhere NEAR as scary.   And Mia Farrow wasn’t a patch on Billie Whitelaw.)

†        Yeah, it was a hell of a convention, Debbi.   (Colin Baker, Nicola Bryant and Tony Selby were the main guests.   Did you know Colin Baker trained as a solicitor … ?   Possibly explains a few things!   Nicola Bryant’s still got the best pair of cheekbones in the business.)
