Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 28th May, 2022.

28th May, 2022.

Yes: I’ve made a mistake!

I checked Facebook … and had a meme go past on my timeline.

Given the song that’s based on … ?

I ended up with an earworm.

Granted, an earworm with an award winning video, and a distinctive mandolin riff … but, none-the-less, an earworm.

I’ll learn, one day.

But I’m also very aware it could’ve been worse: it could’ve been Zendaya!

~≈Ê≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum†, and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        28th May, 1533, saw the Archbishop of Canterbury declare Henry 8th’s marriage was valid.   Henry 8th’s marriage to whom: Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn or Jane Seymour?

Q2)        The original Isle of Man TT race was held: on 28th May, 1907.   TT stands for Tourist what?

Q3)        28th May is the feast day of Saint Bernard of Menthon.   Menthon is in which European country: France, Italy or Portugal?

Q4)        Actress, Cornelia Frances, died: on 28th May, 2018.   She presented the Australian version of which quiz show: Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, The Weakest Link or The Chase?

Q5)        Alexa Davalos was born: on 28th May, 1982.   In which series does she play Juliana Crain: The Man in the High Castle, Angel or FBI: Most Wanted?
Yesterday’s answers are in today’s video.

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        Vincent Price was born: on the 27th May.   Of which year: 1909, 1911 or 1913?
A1)        1911.

Q2)        He appeared in the 1960 film, House of Usher.   Who directed House of Usher: Roger Corman, John Ford or Steven Spielberg?
A2)        Roger Corman.

Q3)        He and his second wife, Mary, wrote several books.   What kind of book: westerns, cook books or tour guides?
A3)        Cook books.   (Ha!   Danny Kaye has a demo kitchen at the New York campus of the Culinary Institute of America named after him!)

Q4)        He played the Inventor, in his last cinema release.   That film was which 1990, Tim Burton film?
A4)        Edward Scissorhands.

Q5)        Finally?   His debut film, Service de Luxe, was released in which year: 1937, 1938 or 1939?
A5)        1938.
Here’s a thought …
“I tend to curse in French more often than I do in English.”
Alexa Davalos, born May 28, 1982.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

The quizmaster’s decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        You’re possibly right, there, Olga.   The UK government raised the price cap … just as it became clear prices were rising.   Suspicious?   Moi?
And you’re right there: phossy jaw and the Radium Girls Scandal were so avoidable.   You have to wonder how much was known in advance …
Either way … ?   Enjoy the day: and save me some paella … !

        Hello, Mum!

Here’s hoping it doesn’t act up, too much, Debbi!   Yeah, I heard about that: the $1, 500, is that right … ?   That’s, what, about £1, 100?   It wouldn’t last long, given the fuel price rise!
I know that’s something a lot of Republicans who accuse the NHS of being exactly that … but, personally, I just call it tax money well spent!

  2. Funny how some people here don't seem to get that. Yes, taxes. They want services without paying for them. They want everything free and right now. :)

We've survived, barely! It was very hot, so it was quite hard to keep going, as we were outside, and as the sun moved, we ended up being exposed to the sun in the area where we were interviewing.
It was full of people, and it was good to go back to normal, sort of...

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
