And that’s always the way with shopping! I always end up kicking myself. I did manage to get a bottle from the local Nisa’s, eventually. (They use the same bottle of washing up liquid as Sainsbury’s: literally the same, just with different labels!)
Say ¡Hola! to Jordi, for me! (I think I got it right, that time!)
‡ It’s amazing how easy it is to do, Debbi! (Are we talking # or #?)
^ It’s easy to word these things badly, Trevor: after all, her accession was in ’52: the coronation was in 1953. In that sense, she came to the throne in ’53.
Q7) La peseta (It was worth next to nothing, but never as bad as Italy’s lira)
Q8) Barcelona
Q9) Cold (thankfully. I’m having some for lunch today)
Q10) Andalusia Thanks, ¡Hola! is perfect. Thanks for today's set. It was a long day yesterday (a pretty locally famous singer and friend of the neighbourhood and even of the radio station died on Friday, and they were having a ceremony yesterday evening. It was hot and packed, so it felt very tiring. So not having to check too many things was great. Funnily enough, St James is not a holiday here in Catalonia. It is not a holiday in too many places, weirdly enough, but... well. There are only so many holidays in the calendar. I'm not sure if I have shared this song before, but the mention of the Mediterranean made me think of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17CeF0hnCwg
Oh, by the way, the song I posted has nothing to do with the singer I mentioned who died on Friday. He is still alive. The singer who died was called Nuria Feliu. This is her webpage. https://nuriafeliu.cat/www20/ She sang mostly in Catalan, jazz and other styles over the years.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
