And cheers, Olga: I’m going to email them them, if I don’t hear about the assessment by one o’clock. Sorry to hear about the power cuts. Did the station have everything backed up? That usually saves a lot of effort.
‡ Cheers, Debbi^: I think I’m going to need it!
It sounds like the foot’s not going to need surgery. Which is a relief, in one sense: I won’t be stuck in bed for a week!
^ Did I mention the new version of Hellraiser’s out, today? The new version of Hellraiser’s out, today. Apparently, the company that’s made it is owned by Disney: which means Pinhead’s a Disney Princess! Oh, and Disney’s opening a new restaurant called Cenobites. Ceno bites … ? No, never mind … !
Q4) The dark side of the moon (the far side of the moon. (I’m quite fond of the Far Side comic strips) I used this one as a cover for one of my essays where I wrote about the original Tarzan novel and two movie versions (Greystoke and the first Tarzan movie with Johnnie Weismüller, Tarzan the Ape Man. In that one, Jane is much more enterprising than in Greystoke, for sure, and it is much funnier, although the other is beautiful) https://www.pinterest.es/pin/37365871883074451/
Q5) Finally … ? What did the Ford motor company introduce, on 7th October 1919: the moving assembly line, the Model T Ford or the Edsel? Did you mean 1913? Then it would be the assembly line. The model Edsel is from the 1950s and the Model T seems to date from 1st October 1908 I hope the referral helps, and you have a good session at the hygienist. Yes, they do backup everything at the radio station. But we couldn't edit or work on the news that were due to be broadcast at 7 pm, so although the power came in before that, it was a bit of a rushed job. I have to go and edit a piece today (although it is not time-sensitive), and it is raining heavily, but I hope they have definitely sorted everything because when I went on Wednesday, the director told me that they were still working at it, although they had assured him there wouldn't be any more powercuts.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
