* From what I remember, Olga? If you take the first half hour of the 1968 film, use the ending of the 2001, Tim Burton, version, and make the Planet look like a 21st Century one … you get something that looks like the book. But it’s been a while since I’ve read it!
We’ll have to see what happens to the voucher, tomorrow: the sooner it gets here, the happier I’ll be. Saying that? There’s another postal strike, next week. And there’s a nurse’s strike, today: it’s literally a first for the RCN.
I’ll keep mine crossed for you, too, Olga. Hopefully, you won’t need it!
† Hello, Mum!
‡ I certainly try, Debbi: hopefully, Sunday’s will be short. That’s ten question set about Michael Moorcock. (I couldn’t resist a ten question set, there. Everyone forgets him, which is sad: I think he had a big influence.)
Q5) Chernobyl Fingers crossed on the voucher front and I hope you don't have a clash between the meeting and the repair man, but yes, I know how these things work. The interview went OK, although I left my glasses at home, but, thankfully I didn't need them for that. This afternoon I'm already on duty helping get the place ready for tomorrow's Radio Christmas dinner (it is not at a restaurant but at one of the local facilities run by the local government (the same place where I went for the interview yesterday), so we have to do everything ourselves, and tomorrow we will help with some of the food preparation as well (not the cooking, but salads, sweets, setting up plates...). So, I'm going to be busy, and then Sunday with the radio programme in the morning and the telethon in the evening. I hope to have a bit of a break on Saturday, and I will try to visit when I can. I think Sunday will the the trickiest day, but do not worry if I don't appear much these few days.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
