Q6) She played that festival as the lead singer of which band: the Doors, Big Brother and the Holding Company or Captain Fantastic’s Invisible Rhubarb Band?
* I will do, Olga. The chap concerned usually gets back to me if there’s no story: so the fact he hasn’t been in touch is hopeful. We’ll have to see, though. But you’re right: it’s the cash.
I have to admit, there’s not that many singers — or songs — I’d say are literally hair-raising. But Janis, when she was on form, was one of them. She’s up there was Aretha, and Anastacia, I think. (It’d be interesting to here Kristofferson^’s opinion of her version of his tune!)
† Hello, Mum!
‡ Yeah, sorry about that, Debbi. But in my defence? The next one’s on the 6th. And yesterday’s was about Janis Joplin … !
^ I keep wondering what would’ve happened on Kristofferson’s movie career: had Jim Morrison survived. They had a similar look, at some points. (Oh, Kristofferson’s a Rhodes scholar!)
Q3) archers (I am quite curious about how this patronage thing works. So, you get killed by arrows and you become the patron saint of archers? I guess there is a twisted logic to it).
Q4) Charles 1st
Q5) Turkey Keep me posted and good luck with the meeting. I quite like Kris Kristofferson, even as an actor, but yes, it is a good question. You mention his being a Rhodes' scholar, and it was curious but yesterday I was reading the ARC of a new novel set up during the pandemic that also mentions some of the METOO demonstrations, and Cecil Rhodes gets a mention. I wonder how all that controversy will have affected such things.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
