Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 3-6-2023 — World Bicycle Day.

3rd June, 2023: World Bicycle Day.

Yes: it’s officially official.

I’ve woken up, this morning … with a runny nose.

I’m blowed if I know why.

But I hate it when my nose is dripping!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        3rd June is World Bicycle Day.   How many wheels does a bicycle have?

Q2)        Those wheels are attached to what ‘F’: a frame, firework or Flump?

Q3)        A (human-powered) bicycle has one wheel connected to a chain, which is connected to gears, connected to what: pedals, wings or doors?

Q4)        BMX racing is also known as Bicycle Moto … what?

Q5)        Finally … ?   The Victorian bicycle named after two types of coins, was the penny … what?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        2nd June is Decoration Day.   Where: Canada, the USA or Mexico?
A1)        Canada.

Q2)        2nd June is the feast day of Saint Elmo.   Saint Elmo’s fire affects what: sailing ships, cars or lorries?
A2)        Sailing ships.   (It’s a weather effect what can be seen around the masts.)

Q3)        Elizabeth 2nd was crowned on 2nd June, 1953.   It was the first British to be what: televised, shown in cinemas or reported in the London Gazette?
A3)        Televised.

Q4)        2nd June, 1955, saw the birth of Micheal Steele.   She was the original bassist for which US band: Blondie, the Ramones, the Runaways or Iggy Pop and the Stooges?
A4)        The Runaways.   (Steele found fame as bassist for the Bangles.)

Q5)        Finally … ?   2nd June, 1840, saw the birth of writer, Thomas Hardy. Bathsheba Everdene is the main character of which of Hardy’s novels: Tess of the d’Urbervilles, Far from the Madding Crowd or Jude the Obscure?
A5)        Far from the Madding Crowd.
Here’s a thought …
“Bicycling is a big part of the future. It has to be. There’s something wrong with a society that drives a car to work out in a gym.”
Bill Nye.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

Very true, Olga.   I think that’s part of the problem: is any potential power imbalance.   A manager dating a manger is one thing, a manager dating a junior member of staff, something else.   Still: “a fuss over nothing” is definitely the phrase!
Wasn’t that SOB, Olga?   I got the impression that’s why Andrews did it: to — ahem! — expand her range, a bit!

I think I’ve still got Wall of Voodoo’s first LP, somewhere, Debbi: it’s quite a listen.   (Oh, the 15th June is a ten question set: I though I should mention.)

Yes, SOB, you're right. Having read a bit more about the matter, it sounds as if he knew the guy since he was 10, so, yes, I can understand why people might have an uncomfortable feeling about it. I guess the combination of his persona and the possible implications of the story give one pause for thought.
I hope you have a good day. It was handy that you posted the teaser earlier than usual today, as I have to cover a piece of news (the 70th anniversary of a local women's association), so it might have been a while before I managed to get to it, but I caught it before I left.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
