Q3)The Independent Television Authority, or ITA, began broadcasting in the UK: on 22nd September, 1955. The TV network it ran is now known as what: BBC1, ITV or Sky Max?
A3)Independant Television, or ITV. The ITA was replaced by the Independent Broadcasting Authority, or IBA, in 1972.
Q4)22nd September, 1979, saw a mysterious ‘double flash’ take place: near South African territory in the Indian Ocean. The flash is believed to have been caused by what: a nuclear bomb test, a volcano or a meteor strike?
Q5)Finally … ? 22nd September is Independence Day, where: Mali or Bulgaria?
A5)Both countries: Mali became independent from France in 1960, Bulgaria became independent from the Ottoman Empire in 1908. (Considering this is a tricky one, I’ll be giving points for ‘Mali’, ‘Bulgaria’ or ‘Both’.)
Here’s a thought …
“Linguists consider both spoken and signed communication to be types of natural language, meaning that both emerged through an abstract, protracted aging process and evolved over time without meticulous planning.”
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
