I'm back! (Sort of). Sorry, but it proved more challenging than expected, not because of technical problems alone, but my mother has had several falls over the last month or so, and I had noticed some memory problems, that seemed to be progressing quite quickly. That brought many problems while we were away, because being in an unfamiliar place, I couldn't really leave her alone, as she couldn't remember which floor of the hotel we were in, and she kept misplacing things. It had to check everything constantly, so quite exhausting. Not my idea of a holiday, although at least we had the food provided, and because a lot of the people in the group, and others, were also old, at least it wasn't such a surprising state of affairs.
The doctor had changed her medication last time we went to see her, and there didn't seem to be a problem for the first month or so, but among the side-effects mentioned are confusions and memory problems, so I want to check with her, although my suspicion is that this might just be a slippery slope kind of situation. I don't know how much I'll be around, because it depends on how things evolve. (When my father died, she also seemed quite forgetful, but when the doctor tested her she didn't think it was anything to worry about. I know stress affects her, and she'd had a cold and not been sleeping well due to the hot weather, but...) I'll keep you posted, but I mention it just in case.

ReplyDeleteNot that I'll be able to review it in advance. Got a load of other books coming out in October to pick and choose from. Though I doubt the author cares much. :)
I suspect it will find its way into readers' hands. Even if "authors" are publishing three AI-created books a day on Amazon!
