“Friday the 13th is considered an unlucky day in Western superstition. It occurs when the 13th day of the month in the Gregorian calendar falls on a Friday, which happens at least once every year but can occur up to three times in the same year.”
* OK, about that cover … ? Later editions of the game had covers that weren’t so revealing: as the one pictured had a few complaints‖!
† Hello, Mum!
‡ Yeah … it sounds similar to my part of town ten years ago, Olga. There were a lot of what they used call HMOs, Home under Multiple Occupation: where landlords would rent out individual rooms. The places only ever had one washing machine between so many people: so laundrettes could make money. We’ve had a lot of flats built, since then.
And, yeah: I’m looking forward to Monday!
§ Strictly speaking, the BBC doesn’t run on taxes, Debbi. Most of it is publicly funded by the license fee on TV sets: and devices capable of accessing the iPlayer. Oh, the World Service gets some government funding from the Foreign Office: but most of the cash is from the TV License, and the profits from BBC Studios.
Now I think of it? Elon Musk caused a bit of a stink in an interview with the BBC: by saying exactly that, by describing it as “funded by government money”. He had to backtrack, and revise the phrase to public money, after a backlash.
(I’m telling a lawyer about wording! Ha!)
¶ I honestly couldn’t tell you, Trevor … !
‖ The games were usually bought by a lot of teenaged boys, so pictures of half naked women were common: to the point such pictures got called ‘bikini babes’. No, don’t google the phrase!!!!!!!!
Q5) 1980 One of my cousins and his wife (the brother of the cousin who lives nearby) have come for a visit. They are staying with him, but we'll going for lunch together a bit later. They are coming here, so it shouldn't be too disruptive, and we're going to a restaurant.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.

Wording is important. That's why I asked. I have no idea how the BBC the operates, but I have a fuller picture now.

It would be interesting to study systems in other countries, because our system is hardly perfect. :) What an understatement.
