Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Hello, Mum! (It was Machine Gun Kelly, Mum, rather than Al Capone … )
† Good luck for the meeting, Olga. The well done ones are usually very helpful! And extra services would be good: it’s only since my PIP’s gone through, that my landlord’s done some renovations. Lowered cupboards, hand rails: it all helps.
Quite what happened with the Food Bank, Olga, I don’t know: they’re usually quite good about contacting you, to let you know what’s happening …
‡ Morning, Irene: I hope the COVID jab went well!
§ That’s a very good point, there, Debbi … ! I don’t think the Bible had Balrogs, though …
Now I think of it, I tried creating my own version of balrogs for a game or two of Tunnels and Trolls, many years ago. I don’t think I used them, though: they were a little too powerful for the player-characters.
Yeah, Narnia was definitely Biblical. Aslan was a redemptive, Christ-like character, his death on the Stone Table, a stand in for the Crufixion, the White Witch, positively Satanic. Now I think of it, we could say the same for Morgoth, and Sauron, in The Silmarillion and Lord of the Rings. Both Morgoth and Sauron were fallen angels. (Do you remember Melkur? From The Keeper Of Traken? I always wondered where they got the name …)
Q6) False. It’s the 24th of October I was going to say something about the food bank, but it's goot to know they are trying to keep on top of things. It must be difficult with so many people in need. I did take the form this morning, in the end, and they told me it would be around 6 months before I hear anything from them. I know that, in the past, phoning them at around the 5 or 6 months limit resulted in a phone call a few days later to set up the appointment and review. It might have been pure chance, but I remember one of the things I took notice of from one of the books by carers was to keep insisting. I must say the people who answers the phones for this kind of service are very knowledgeable and very kind, so it is not an altogether terrible experience.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
† Your Facebook, X/Twitter, Blogger, Instagram, TikTok or LinkedIn profile are acceptable. I also like seeing folks webpages.
Olga, wouldn’t you know it … ?
