I’ve baby sat my nephew, yesterday, seen a film — Hellraiser: Judgement could’ve done with a bigger budget, I think — and done …
Stuff.
Ahem!
One thing I know I did do?
Was read this article: which tells us about the Russian man seeing Apple for ‘turning him gay.’
I have to admit, I laughed my head off, at first.
Like a phone app’s going to turn you gay. Or straight. Or black. Or white. Or left-handed.
I know I’ve been left handed since I was born: Apple certainly didn’t hit me with a mouse and force me into it.
What’s more? He apparently chose to start dating men, after receiving an app called GayCoin: complete with a note — apparently in English — saying ‘Don’t judge until you try.’
Try what, exactly?
On top of that?
The only references to the app I can find? Are links leading to news report of the story.
Rather than to the app’s listing on the Russian iOS app store*.
That doesn’t mean it’s not on there.
Just that I can’t find it with a regular Google Search: although there is one revealed by a quick look through DuckDuckGo, using TorBrowser. (The websites, I should stress, here. Not any apps.)
That pages times out, I should add.
Personally?
I know times are tough for the Russian LGBTQ community.
But I’m deeply sceptical about this man’s case.

Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Badwolf†, Olga‡, and Debbi^ putting in their answers: with Debbi And Olga on five out of five, and Anne on four.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
* Famously? The only way you can install an app on iOS devices, is through the App Store. It’s a control thing. That way, Apple can earn money by taking a cut of App Store sales. And make sure any apps sold to users are secure. the only way to get around this, is by jailbreaking your phone: not something that’s usually recommended.
† We’ll have to see how things go, Anne. One way or the other, the post should get some attention!
‡ Oh, well, a sticker. Always nice to get one, Olga. Which sounds an iffy way of saying it, now I see it written down. I know getting AA coins is quite a powerful thing. That and the legs should add up to something! Actually, it’s a spin off series. I think it’s on Amazon Prime in the UK: I’m not sure about anywhere else.
^ Oh, there’s always a technicality, Debbi. I’ll have to add the book to the wish list, at some point. Once I’ve got through the reading list! (I’m still on Odd John, by the way. It’s showing its age in some of the language. But still fascinating …)
Q1) Southend’s Pier Q2) Helsinki Q3) East Germany Q4) A unicorn Q5) Afghanistan Have a good week, Paul. Amazon's prime offerings seem to vary from place to place. I was wondering yesterday about something called The Boys about superheroes behaving badly (an Amazon series, it seems).
I've been reading Harlan Ellison. The collection with "'Repent Harlequin' Said the Ticktockman". It could be said to show its age a bit, but it's still a ... unique bit of reading. :)

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
