Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18th February, 2022.

18th February, 2022.

For those of us in south eastern England?

Well … I’m imaging it’s windy where you are: if it’s anywhere like where I am.

Frankly?

We’re being gently caressed by Storm Eunice.

And, yes: I’m going for irony, when I say ‘gently.’

As I write, there’s quite a bit of wind, howling past my window.

Which is going to make lunch interesting.

I’ve got my nephew, Jude, over, today.

Ruth — his mother, my sister — has offered to fund lunch.

Going to the nearest shop, to buy it … ?

Is going to be fun.

~≈⛈≈~

Actually, talking of Jude … ?

He was over, yesterday.

And … ?

Well, don’t ask how many times we re-took the “But that’s not it,” bit!

~≈🏁≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga scoring five out of five, and Debbi and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Here’s a thought …
“When you get to fifty-two food becomes more important than sex.”
Prue Leith, born 18 February 1940.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

The quizmaster’s decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        I’ve got to admit, Olga: the only other film I’ seen Gordon-Levitt in, is Looper.   Which is quite good: from what I remember.
Ah!   Right … !   Teenagers and sleep!   I’m assuming her and her friends aren’t wildly partying … ? At any rate?   I hope she slows down enough to concentrate!
Enjoy the gig.   Barcelona sounds a lot like London.   Most of the famous areas all started as villages that got absorbed as London grew.   I’m pretty sure High, Greenwich and Dulwich did: but don’t quote me!   (I think Whitechapel did two.)

        Hello, Mum!

‡        It’s by the Buzzcocks, Debbi: I think they might appeal.   Everybody’s Happy, Nowadays is an old favourite.

Yes, as to Barcelona, and having visited Greenwich years back, I'm pretty sure that must be the case as well. Barcino was a Roman colony (not the biggest city around. Tarraco, now Tarragona, was the capital of that part of Roman Hispania at the time) and the city kept growing inside of the Roman Walls, but eventually it took over the surrounding area...
I hope the wind is not too bad when you have to go for food. Here it is wonderful weather today, sunny and warm, but temperatures are supposed to go down tomorrow. We shall see...
    Regards to Jude.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
