So … ? I sent a brief email: giving my details, and the number of permits, required.
There’s going to be problems.
As, as few minutes later, I got an email from Clarion’s email server.
To tell me my email had failed, as the “Recipient email address is possibly incorrect.”
The address given, was wrong: and has — from what I can tell — been sent to every Clarion property on the street.
There’s possibly a lot that can be said, there.
For starters?
I had VAGUE memories of using that address, before now: or, at least, one like it. On with the individual words — Regional, Housing, what have you — capitalised.
So included that address in my original mail.
That seemed to go through.
I ALSO visited Clarion’s website: and got in touch with one of their representatives.
Q1) 27th November is the earliest date Advent Sunday — the fourth Sunday before Christmas — can fall. What’s the latest date: 3rd December, 4th December or 5th December?
Q2) Jimi Hendrix was born on 27th November, 1942. He frequently used to play African American venues in the US south. In what’s now called the what: Chitlin’ Circuit, Borscht Belt or Cajun Cumquats?
A2) Chitlin’ Circuit. (The term comes from chitterlings: part of the traditional soul food based on cheap cuts only available to those who could afford nothing better.)
Q3) The Coup of 1856 took place on 27th November, 1856. Where: Belgium, Luxembourg or the Netherlands?
Q4) Also sprach Zarathustra was first performed by its composer: on 27th November, 1896. Who was its composer: Richard Strauss, Gustav Mahler or Antonín Dvořák?
* I might have to, Olga: the price on Amazon is … substantial.
Fruit teas do sound like a good idea: but, lord, I’d miss the caffeine!
I can always ask my sisters: if and when they go past a big branch of Tescos. I don’t think there’s any I can get to: not easily, anyway … ! (I’ve just had a look at the website’s Store locators: trying to see if there’s any I could visit when I next go to Romford. There’s just the smaller branches …)
† Hello, Mum!
‡ Blimey, you have thespian roots, Debbi! Going by this Wikipedia page, he did minstrel shows: you couldn’t get away with those, today … ! Did you see he’s got an Internet Broadway Database.com page? It’s rather light on details, though.
Q3) Luton. My cousin John has been living in Luton for a while and renting his house in London. It is a studio apartment, so I’m sure he’s much better off now.
Q4) Luton Town FC
Q5) vehicles There was a bizarre electrical fault and I woke power to no power. Some of the neighbours in the apartment building had electricity and others no, but they only solved it many hours later (it went at 2 am), so I'm trying to catch up. Fingers crossed they manage to fix everything, because the lifts aren't working (we live on the first floor, but there are 8 floors in total, so upstairs neighbours might suffer). I hope you have a great afternoon.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
