I managed to get in touch with my work coach, my Job Centre case worker.
My next meeting’s scheduled for 3rd February: and was pencilled in for 13:30.
Which was causing problems.
I’m due a repairman that day: between 8am and 1pm.
So I wanted to re-arrange my Job Centre meeting: knowing my luck, the repair man would turn up at 12:55, and leave me no time to get to the job centre!
So?
As I hadn’t had a reply from my case worker?
I headed to town: concerned that — as I’d left thing a little late — I would get to the office at lunch time, when there’d ONLY be one person manning the front desk.
When — in other words — my case worker was out to lunch!
I got lucky.
As, when I was heading for the office … I bumped into my case worker, as they were heading for lunch!
And was able to let them know I need the appointment changed: even if by only an hour.
It’s now on 3rd February … at 15:25.
Phew!

Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q4)Mendelssohn’s Wedding March was played at the wedding of one of Queen Victoria’s daughter’s: on 25th January, 1858. The Wedding March is in which key: B Major, C Major or D Major?
Q5)Finally … ? 25th January, 1947, saw Thomas Goldsmith Jr apply for the patent for his Cathode Ray Tube Amusement Device. In other words, for the world’s first what: Television, computer or electronic game?
* Cheers, Olga, I’ll pass that on. He’s a bit of a fan of Liverpool, so Barca might JUST be verboten!
At any rate? He’ll be interested in the dis track, as well, I think: he’s downloaded phone software that lets him record himself rapping. I think he’s five steps away from asking Mummy for a Macintosh! It’s not like I’ve encouraged him. Or school’s got tons of them in music class … … … …
‡ I figured it would be pricy, Debbi. It MIGHT be worth seeing if there’s a soft back version. Is that the right US term, soft back? At ANY rate … !!
The bluray version of season nine — Pertwee’s third season — is being advertised on the UK branch of Amazon. When or if it’ll be available in the US, I don’t know.
Q5) Leicester City You got me quite confused as you'd written you had an appointment on the 3rd of January, but later on you clarified it was February. (I wondered if I got the dates wrong or you'd created a time machine or perhaps travelled with the Doctor). Good that you've managed to sort your appointments. Oh, the Kings League has nothing to do with any "proper" football teams, at least as far as I understand. The teams are made up with all kinds of players and ex-players from different teams, and I think people who watch (it seems to be very popular with young kids) can make suggestions and even decide which players they want to see playing.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
