Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 23rd September 2024.

23rd September, 2024.

Yes!

It’s officially Monday!

Which means that I’m not going to be leaping like a lizard.
Nope, it means I’m going to have a long day.

I’ve got my weight management class, this morning.

And, as it’s payday?

I’ve got a slew of bills to pay, and shopping to do.

My legs are going to hurt, when I get home!

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Here’s a thought …
“[Mother] kept talking about my dad's ‘floozies’ — which I took to be another name for ‘bartender.’”
Mickey Rooney, September 23, 1920 – April 6, 2014.
A song …

And an earworm …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum … !

That’s always the thing with puppies, Olga: bless them, they like to chew!   Would taking a chew toy or two, next time, help?   (Did I mention I was other Ruth and Jude’s, last week?   Quite why Bobby the Cat likes chewing my shoes, I don’t know!)

        You’re going fine, Debbi … !   :D

  1. Q1) Saint Peter

    Q2) American Graffiti (Great soundtrack!)

    Q3) World War One

Q4) Sign Languages (but the question had the wrong date. It said the 20th of September rather than the 23rd)

    Q5) Richard Nixon
They had plenty of chewy things at the stalls, but as I don't have any pets I didn't buy any. But it's a good idea. Not sure about the shoes... Perhaps the shoelaces are made with catnip? Who knows?
I hope everything went well today.

I wonder how many kids here know about the Checkers Speech.

I recently mentioned HUAC to some people I know and got the strange feeling they didn't know the reference.

I'm often surprised by what people don't know about relatively recent history.

There's an awful lot I just happened to live through. As well all do. :)

Except the Checkers speech, which was before my time. By a few years. :)

Speaking of time, that's why I mentioned Bodies. It takes place in four time periods that are connected by one murder. So there's time travel involved. Always fun.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
