Stranger Things — Series 5: Chapter 8 — The Rightside Up — A Review

27th March, 2026.
“The Rightside Up”.
An Introduction.

Right … It’s officially Friday, again … !

Which means several things.

First … ?

I’ve backed some blurays up: and taken the things to an old friend.

Which reminds me — as ever — that I really need to write about HandBrake, and MakeMKV.

Or, at least, how to use that to turn those apps to copy optical discs, and turn them into the sort of digital files one can play on …

Well …

Devices … !

At any rate … it’s Friday?

And?

Tonight I’m going to be watching “The Rightside Up”, the last episode of Stranger Things, series five … and of Stranger Things, itself.

Hopefully … ?

And as of 18·30 on Friday, 27th March, 2026 … ?

This will be worth it.

But, as ever and always?

I’ll be letting you know what I thought, by this coming Tuesday.

Stranger Things — Series 4 Chapter 8 — Papa — A Review

16th August, 2022.

It’s official: I’m looking out of the window at a remarkable dry evening.

Given my part of the world is supposed to be getting rain?   After forty odd days of heat?

That’s a little disappointing.

After all, we had rain, over night.

We could do with more.

Frankly?   I hope we get some, this evening.

It would be needed … and would add a hell of a lot of atmosphere to what I’ll be doing.

Yes: it’s Tuesday.

So I’ll be watching Papa, the next episode of Stranger Things’ fourth season.

Rain would add some atmosphere.

The Mandalorian — Series 1 Chapter 8 — Redemption — A Review

11th September, 2020.

OK …

I can safely say two things, at the moment.

I’ve had dinner.

Fish and chips, if you must know.

And, right now?   I’m telling you that: through the medium of my blog.

Obviously.

The mild difference?

Is that I’m experimenting with the new Blogger interface.

At the moment, there’ll be a time when I won’t be able to use the legacy version.

So?

Frankly, getting slowly used to the new version — when I don’t have to use it — seems fair enough.

Right now, though?

I have understandable concerns.

I suspect that I won’t be able to use the prepared html links I usually use, nor YouTube embed code.

I have’ve over the past few weeks, I know that.

In that sense?

There’s little change from there.

There is, however, one page that tells me I can use the embed code … if I switch between HTML, and COMPOSE mode: the pen icon in the top left hand corner in this photo.

HTML mode looks like this …

If you’re not used to it … ?

That can be very confusing!

However?

That isn’t necessarily want I wanted to tell you.

You’d possibly guessed.

No, I wanted to tell you about what I’ve just seen on TV.

Yes: the last episode in series one of  The Mandalorian.

Stranger Things: Series 3 — Episode 8— Chapter 8: The Battle of Starcourt — A Review

26th July, 2019.

Right …

I’ve officially got pressed the Techno playlist in iTunes: and happily got Kraftwerk playing through the Apple TV at the moment.

Right at the moment … ?

I’ve got Mousse T on the go: followed by the Grid’s Swamp Thing.

Which is possibly NOT want you want to hear at this time of night.

But, hey … I’m enjoying it.

~≈†≈~

At any rate … ?

Yes: the video’s right.

Potentially right, at any rate.

It looks like the barometer in Britain hit the UK’s highest recorded temperature, yesterday.

Peaking at a record 38.7ºC in Cambridge.

Frankly?

I’m just grateful I had a shower, today …

Oh … and that it rained a bit.

Not that I was worried about the latter.

By the time it started … ?

I was safely indoors watching TV.

Yes, you’re right.

I’ve watched the last episode of Stranger Things series 3 …

Stranger Things: Episodes 7 and 8 — Chapter Seven: The Bathtub and Chapter Eight: The Upside Down

You know, one of these days?

One of these days, I swear, I’ll get a day when I don’t have palpitations.

Really!

Over the weekend?

We had quite a few snotty customers.

Well, I say weekend.   If you want me to define it loosely, you can include Monday and Tuesday with that.

So, when my copy of iTunes acts up, exactly when my AppleTV updates itself: right in the middle of making the videos for another few days worth of teasers?

The past few days haven’t exactly been a barrel of pigeons, let’s put it that way.

At any rate?

That kind of intensity makes me value the time off I get.

And certainly value the time I have.

Catching up with discoveries: in between housework!

“Discoveries?”   I hear here you ask.

Well, yes.  Interesting albums are good: I’ve been listening to Brian Eno’s Ambient series for example, which are something to hear.

Films: and one of these days, I’ll sit down with one!

Books: I still can’t believe one co-worker hasn’t ever sat down with a good book.

That’s possibly vaguely heretical, now I think about it.

At any rate … discoveries.

Something I have discovered?

Is that there’s some interesting TV shows lurking around: both online, on TV, on DVD …

Enough to keep me happily sat in front of a TV, for the past few weeks.

Watching both Mr Robot.

The the recent — for me — discover that is Stranger Things.

And, yes: I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this first season.
