Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 14th May, 2018

14th May, 2018.

Yes: you’re right …

I’ve officially caught another episode — another two episodes, in fact — for the fifth season of American Horror Story.

The one known as Hotel.

It’s looking rather good: although given how many nights I’ve worked?   It’s gone a little more slowly than I’d’ve like.

Still … needs must …

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) NASA launched the first US space station: on 14th May, 1973.   What WAS that station?
Q2) The Station came down in 1979.   Most of the station — when it re-entered the atmosphere — came down near which country?
Q3) 14th May, 1984, saw the birth of Mark Zuckerberg.   Which social network did he found?
Q4) Who was jailed for kidnap: on 14th May, 1991?
Q5) 14th May, 1796, saw Edward Jenner administer his first inoculation.   What disease did it inoculate against?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) Admiral Arthur Phillip set sail with the First Fleet: on 13th May of which year of the 1780s?
A1) 1787.
Q2) The Fleet was to set up what kind of colony?
A2) A penal colony.
Q3) The colony was in what’s now Australia: in what was called Port Jackson.   Port Jackson is now part of which Australian city?
A3) Sydney.
Q4) The fleet had two Naval ships, three store ships, and how many convict ships?
A4) Six.
Q5) Finally … the Fleet arrived in Australia in which year of the 1780s?
A5) 1788.
Here’s a thought …
“It’s not music you would use to get a girl into bed. If anything, you’re going to frighten her off.”
David Byrne. Born 14th May, 1952.
And three girl scaring songs … !

No 2.

No 3.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        That’s something that caught me, Olga: the amount of acts singing in English, over the years.   I think there’s rules about it.   If I’ve got it right, up until a few years ago, you could sing in English or French.   Which is why Waterloo was in English.   Then it got changed to English, French, or your native language … then switched to whatever the country’s native language was.   I think it’s back to English, French, or native tongue.   And possibly all about cracking the US market.   (According to one Wikipedia entry, there’s more native Spanish speakers than English: although I don’t know how many South American countries watch the contest …)

†        I wouldn’t worry, Debbi, I get days like that, too!   (For most of my life … !)   Oh, hell, let’s have some more Talking Heads … … !
