10th May, 2025: J. Edgar’s Gang.
Right … it’s officially Saturday: and … ?
I feel tired, still.
I think an early night might be in order.
Which is always awkward on a Saturday: it’s Dr Who night!
Let’s move on.
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum†, Irene‡ and Debbi§, putting in their answers: with Olga, Debbi and Irene scoring five out of five and Mum on four.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s five question, FBI themed, set, shall we?
Q1) J. Edgar Hoover was named as the head of what later became the FBI: on 10th May of which year of the 1920s?Q2) At the time, the FBI was known as the BOI, or Bureau of what?Q3) The FBI is the what Bureau of Investigation: Federal, Federated or Fluffy?Q4) Dana Scully and Fox Mulder are fictional FBI agents: in which TV series?Q5) Finally … ? The FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit 4 — once called the Behavioural Sciences Unit — investigates what: cybercrime, serial killers or car crime?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 9th May was the date of the May 9 Riots. 9th May of which year of the 2020s?A1) 2023.Q2) More to the point, where: Pakistan, Bangladesh or India?A2) Pakistan.Q3) The Riots were in the wake of the arrest of which former cricketer: Geoffrey Boycott, Imran Khan or Shane Warne?A3) Imran Khan.Q4) The cricketer in question had been the country’s what: Chief Judge, President or Prime Minister?A4) Prime Minister.Q5) Finally … ? The country’s government calls the riot the what: black day, black night or dark morning?A5) The black night.
Here’s a thought …
“President Calvin Coolidge first appointed Hoover as director of the BOI, the predecessor to the FBI, in 1924.”From the Wikipedia entry on J. Edgar.
A song …
And an earworm …
The next ten question set will be on 15th May: it’s about Mike Oldfield.
Your comments and answers will be published tomorrow morning.
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Well, he’s not getting any younger, Olga! But at least he’s something that offers support. The weird bit? Is the place is on the site of my old infants school: it’s bit of a distance from here, though I’ll have to see about a visit.
And my ex’s mother was in supported living and she got on very well with her neighbours: hopefully, Trevor will too. (Assuming he hasn’t found the pub!)
† Hello, Mum! (You put 2923, instead of 2023!)
‡ Morning, Irene! How IS the day … ?
§ Not necessarily, Debbi: hopefully, he’ll do well, there.
I get around a bit, Debbi … ! (I was wondering if you’d noticed …)

Hopefully it will work out for the best, for Trevor. And yes, it is weird how some buildings change purpose in surprising ways sometimes. That one will have seen the beginning and the end of life, for what you say.
I'm supposed to be covering the anniversary of the local castellers this afternoon/evening and tomorrow morning. We shall see, as there is some rain forecast. Fingers crossed it waits until after...
It would be impossible for me not to notice. :)
I kept meaning to say something, but ... I got blisters on me fingers, as John Lennon once said. :)

BTW, I think your quote gave away an answer. :)
Not that I needed help. Still got my librarian research skills, if not access to the paid databases I once did.
