I have to admit, I’m in something of an odd mood, just recently.

I think not get a job, after the recent interview … ?

Has definitely taken the wind out of my sails.

Not good, as you can imagine.

However, I can and should carry on regardless.

After all, it could be a lot worse … !

Hmmm … 

Is anyone ELSE having an issue with YouTube … ?

Let me clarify: is anyone else out there having issues using or accessing YouTube, using Safari 5.x, under Snow Leopard … ?

I know I am, as are others: going by what I can see of the YouTube forums.

I’ve tried my usual range of stuff: from clearing my copy of Safari’s caches and history, to system wide cache clearing, to dumping the relevant .plist files.

With no good result.

And, wouldn’t you know it … ?

Wouldn’t you know it, interacting with YouTube’s forum — trying to post questions myself — is ALSO affected by whatever’s causing the problem.

Grrrr … !

The Brentwood Gazette’s Weekly Teaser — 7-5-2014: The Big Easy … !

Well, it’s official: I now have a new — pro-tem — adviser, at my local Job Centre.

At least, while my regular one is off, ill.

Hopefully … ?

Hopefully, I should be able to arrange an extra courser, or two: I’m thinking one on interview technique would be useful, given last week’s complete non-starter of an interview.

Here’s hoping … !

Right … 

It’s Wednesday, again!

Which means I’ll be signing on, again, today.

I have to admit, though, I’m mildly disappointed my adviser’s off: ill, unfortunately.

After last Wednesday’s interview — and failure to get a job as a result — I can’t help but think that brushing up on my interview technique would be helpful.

Actually, a lot of things would be helpful.

But let’s concentrate on the achievable ones.

Either way … ?   Well, either way, it’ll have to wait until my adviser gets back.

As frustrating as it is to wait, she’s the one to organize it … !

With that said … ?

The Daily Teaser — 6-5-2014: Get An Eiffel of This …

Oh, now THAT’S what I call Snooker … !

Ahem … !

I have to admit to being something of a fan of Snooker: having grown up in during the 1980s, when the game had it’s first TV boom.

And have to add I like good matchplay snooker: where individual frames take hours, and the match can turn not on your potting ability, but on your safety play.

Safety play … and ability to both lay, and get out of, snookers*.

I was watching the final frames of the final of Snooker’s World Championship, last night: between Mark Selby and Ronnie O’Sullivan.

Selby’s 18-14 victory … ?   Was a VERY good example of matchplay at it’s finest.

And possibly one of the most watchable finals for years … !

Now … while I point out that Stephen Fry knows how to enthuse about the game … ?

We’ll get a move on … !
