The Daily Teaser …

Yoicks.

I’ve got to admit, I’ve actually finally had an answer from Susan Carragher about the library computers at Brentwood and Shenfield.

And as soon as I get the chance, I think I’ll be putting up a post or two more about that.

Once I’ve done a little research, to make sure of my facts, figures, terminology …

And stuff.

Bit of an education, this, isn’t it, Adrian … ?

•••••

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Trevor getting 5 out of 5, and — as it quiet — officially beating everyone to the Official First-In-Clap.

Let’s see how you, and he, do with today’s questions, shall we? Here they are, along with the ‘How To’ and License

Q1) 21st April, 753BC — or 21st April, 754BC, depending on who you ask — is the traditional date for the foundation of which city?

Q2) More to the point, by which rather wild twins?

Q3) Who — or what, I should say — was the adoptive mother of those twins?

Q4) Moving on, 21st April, 1509, saw who ascent the throne of England?

Q5) 21st April is Grounation Day: this commemorates whose visit to a very specific Caribbean island?

Q6) More to the point, which island are we talking about?

Q7) And finally … which religion celebrates Grounation Day?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 20th April, 1999, saw two pupils massacre 13 of their fellow students — not including themselves — during the Colombine High School Massacre: in which US state was the school?
A1) Colorado.

Q2) 20th April, 1968, saw who make his notorious Rivers of Blood speech?
A2) Enoch Powell.

Q3) 20th April, 1964, saw which British TV channel fail to launch, because of a power failure at Battersea Power Station?
A3) BBC2.

Q4) April the 20th, 1939, saw who record the song, Strange Fruit?

Q5) And finally — after a rather doomy Teaser — 20th April, 1998, saw which terrorist group announce its officially dissolution?
A5) The Red Army Faction: also known as the Baader-Meinhöf Group, or Baader-Meinhöf Gang.

Enjoy those, everyone. I’ll catch you later.

Oh, apparently, it’s the Queen’s 84th birthday, today.

Happy Birthday, Queenie.

Although I don’t think I’ll get a medal for mentioning it …

“I stare at myself in the mirror and I think, 'Wow, I'm really great-looking.'... I think I'm the greatest, anyway.”
