The Daily Teaser — 20-12-2014

Oh …

Now that’s something …

I’ve got last night’s episode of QI on, at the mo.

And … ?

Well, according to one answer, knicker-throwing fans — these days —are limited to Tom Jones.

But, apparently … ?   The knicker-throwers threw theirs at Franz Liszt.

You learn something new, everyday!

David Bohm, December 20, 1917 – October 27, 1992.
Enjoy your day.

*        It’s an old one, Debbi‡: been around for years.   (It’s a bit like twaddle†, in that respect.)

†        Basically, it means either ‘talking rubbish’ — or idle chatter.   (According to Terry Pratchett, t’s also a term for the syrup used to made English style lemonade: effectively, it’s whatever you were gossiping about, whilst making it.)

‡        Oh, so you know, Debbi … the England football team isn’t a Premiership side.   The Premiership is — if I’ve understood it correctly — more like the Major leagues that baseball has.   (If baseball has an international tournament that works the same way as international football tournaments, there’d be a US team: may up of players from every eligible club side.   But that national side wouldn’t be a major league side: it would just have players that were members of teams that were.   If that makes sense … ?)
