Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8th May, 2024.

8th May, 2024.

Yes!

It’s officially Hump Day!

The day that’s officially in the middle of the week!

But you knew that!

At any rate … ?

I’m expecting it to be quiet: apart from my my nephew pops over.

We can possibly expect more vides of Mikey the Rabbit.

I have to admit, I’m a bit of an Apple fan.

And was very aware of their product event, yesterday.

What caught my attention … ?

Was the new range of iPad Pros: complete with fancy fancy displays, some new software — Final Camera would let users co-ordinate four iOS camera in a multi camera set up — and various other bits and bobs.

These new devices … ?

Now come with the newly released M4 chip.

A system-on-a-chip that Apple tells us is a significant improvement on the M2 that I have in my recent model Mac mini.

About my only concern?

Is that some of Apple’s slides at the event?

Seem to imply the M4 is significantly faster than the M2 at recoding AV1 videos*.

Which — as afar as I know — is a bit of a non-sequitur.

As the M2, and M1, chips can’t deal with the format in hardware!

Heigh-ho!

Let’s move on, shall we?

“A statesman is a politician who's been dead 10 or 15 years.”
Harry S. Truman, May 8, 1884 – December 26, 1972.

Some music …

And possibly the best love song ever written …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        If I’ve understood things correctly?   The M3 and M4 chips have hardware acceleration for the job: parts of the chips are specially built for this situation.

It always amazes me how these dates can differ, Olga!   Oh … have you seen the Spanish Eurovision entry, this year?   She reminds me, vaguely, of Cayetana Guillén Cuervo: Irene, in El Ministerio del Tiempo.   You should see the Irish entry, though: they’ve hired Maleficent!

        Hello, Mum!

§        Glad I could help, Debbi!   (Sorry about the scores, Debbi: but there were six questions, yesterday … !)

You're right about the Irish entry. Amazing! The Spanish one was (still is, although we have other worries now) quite controversial, as she, basically, calls herself a whore (zorra, not puta, but just another way of saying it), but, hey-ho.
I hope you have fun today.

1. Mars
2. Zoo Quest
3. Sid James

Weren't the twins the inspiration for Doug and Dinsdale Piranha? :)

I think I gave all the answers. :)
