9th May, 2025: I Predict a Riot.
Rejoice!
We have a new pope!
I mean a metaphorical ‘We’, rather than a specific ‘We’.
Americans proud of the first US pope.
The rest of us … ?
Can only sit back and have enjoy the Mass he’s due to take, this morning.
Whilst waiting for his views on things to become better known.
Heigh … ho!
Let’s move on.
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum†, Debbi‡ and Irene‡ putting in their answers: with Olga, Debbi and Irene scoring five out of five and Mum on four.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s five question set, shall we?

A news report …
And an earworm …
The next ten question set will be on 15th May: it’s about Mike Oldfield.
Your comments and answer will be published tomorrow morning.
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* I’ll be honest, Olga¶, the books are worth the effort: if only for the world building. But … ? They are off-puttingly long. My copy of The Fellowship of The Ring is 534 pages, and an inch and a half think. That’s not including the maps …
I think the UK versions are still around: although I don’t think there’s any reprinted ones. The only ones I’m seeing are second hand.
† Hello, Mum!
‡ They’ve been around for a few decades, Debbi¶: and originally had Alfred Hitchcock — the Alfred Hitchcock — as the team’s unofficial boss! I think the writer used him to advertise the series. (There was A Spanish, according to what Olga’s said: and they were huge in Germany.)
§ Morning, Irene: how IS the day … ?
¶ Debbi, Olga, I’ve left you both a message on X.

And thanks for the message about Trevor, Paul. Fingers crossed he gets stronger and better soon and can go back home. I don't know how old he is but most people prefer that. Although I've known some people who enjoy the social aspect of a nursing home, especially if they are quite well and manage to make some friends there.
