12th June, 2025: The Philippines.
It’s official: it’s Thursday …
And, on a personal level … ?

And a certain amount of boredom!

I’ve got movies in, and TV shows.
But might just end up thumb twiddling …

* Hello, Mum¶ … !
† Yeah: I’ve managed to correct the spelling, Olga¶. Quite where I got the impression it was spelt like that, I don’t know!
Yes: it was filmed there. At least two couples I know spent their honeymoons, there: and had very messy divorces. It’s always put me off going … !
‡ I’m grateful it went well, Irene¶: especially as I smoked for years!
§ If it’s any help, Debbi¶? … ? E. T.’s supposed to be OK … um …
Talking of lines? But one story I heard about Inverlair Lodge, was that the place classed as a psychiatric hospital, during the war: that way, it avoided inspection by the Red Cross. Ho … hum!
¶ So everyone knows? These are the upcoming ten-question sets …

I hope you aren't too bored, but I find that it's either running around or it being pretty quiet. Although, here it has got quite hot now, so doing anything that involves going outside, needs to be planned in advance, so you don't find yourself outside right when it's hotter. And as we don't have air conditioning, it is not that cool inside either (the opposite is true. Here they put in place a plan and list places where people who don't have air conditioning can go to keep cool, and that includes libraries, museums and local buildings, parks and gardens...)
Oh, I am not sure I've ever told you, but one of my cousins, Angel, who lives in London (three of them live in the UK), is married to a Filipino woman, Sheila. His family didn't seem to be very happy about it, as she is older than him (I don't know by how much. To tell you the truth, she's always looked pretty much the same to me, since I met her thirty years or so ago). But she is hard working (she worked in posh hotels doing housekeeping and cleaning, and she would talk about the famous people she had met, like Madonna or Tom Cruise. It seems that some were quite nice, while others... not so much). They never had any children. I am not sure if that is related to her age, although I know she suffered from breast cancer, and although she is well now, the treatment isn't kind.
From their Facebook page (we do follow each other and I tend to see them around every so often) it seems that they go to the Philippines quite often, and have bought some property there, although I don't know if that is for them, her family, or both. They seem to travel a lot, but although I've sometimes seen pictures of them in Barcelona, I never catch them when they are here. Perhaps some day... (We were never very close, but I like her, and she was one of the few people who bothered to buy and read my books, so that's a star for her!)
Wow! Well, that's very interesting.
Kind of scary. :)
