Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6-6-2025 — UN Russian Language Day

6th June, 2025: UN Russian Language Day.

Isn’t always the thing … ?

You take a medication — Mounjaro, in my case — once a week.

And almost forget to take it … until you make a video intro for a blog post, that reminds you to take it.

Heigh-ho!

~≈💉≈~

Which reminds me … the BBC had a news piece, yesterday.

Apparently?

We’re advised — if we’re female and either pregnant or trying for a baby — to stop using weight loss jabs, like Mounjaro,

I’m not going to worry for myself.

I’m male, for a start!

But … ?

It’s an interesting piece to see.

~≈👶🏻≈~

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga†, Irene‡ and Debbi§ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s five question set, shall we?

Here it is, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        6th June is Russian Language Day.   According to whom: the UN, the EU or the Warsaw Pact Nations?

Q2)        The day is shared with whose birthday: Alexander Pushkin’s, Anton Chekov’s or Leo Tolstoy’s?

Q3)        It’s the fourth most used language on what: the internet, the ISS or the EU?

Q4)        Not including semivowels?   Not including semivowels, the Russian alphabet has how many vowels?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Russian is one of two official languages, where: Mars, Skylab or the ISS?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        5th June is Constitution Day in Denmark.   The current Danish constitution was signed in which year of the 1950s?
A1)        1953.

Q2)        The Constitution is the Constitution of Denmark itself, the Faroe Islands, and where else?
A2)        Greenland.

Q3)        Denmark and its constituents parts, are known as the Danish what: Realm, Region or Rhubarb … ?
A3)        Realm.

Q4)        The Constitution names who as the country’s head of state: a monarch, a president or the Cardinal-Deacon of Denmark?
A4)        The monarch.

Q5)        Finally … ?   Denmark, proper, is part of the Schengen Area.   The Area allows for what, between members states: a common monetary policy, freedom of movement or cross-border policing?
A5)        Freedom of movement.
Here’s a thought …
“Russian is an East Slavic language belonging to the Balto-Slavic branch of the Indo-European language family.”
From the Wikipedia entry on Russian.
And a poem …

The next ten question set is on 11th June: it’s about E. T.: The Extraterrestrial

Comments and answers will be published, tomorrow morning.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

I think it’s the model of landline I have: the router can pass on the digital signal: just not the Missed Call signals.   Bar that?   It’s still handy, Olga: especially given how iffy the mobile signal is around here.

        I’m glad I’m entertaining, Irene! :D
(Meditation, eh?   I could never sit still for long enough.)

§        You’d not be wrong, Debbi: neither Ould John Lydon.   Some firms had reputations for violence as long as your arm.   The various UK police forces came down heavily on it in the 1970s and ’80s, but the violence is still around.   The various firms just tend to fight away from the stadiums.
As for the connections between the nastier firms, and the National Front?   The less said, the better.

Yes, I remember you comments about the tower and all the issues you had. That is definitely a problem, especially when you have so much contact with agencies.

Hi, Paul. I forgot to say yesterday that I'm covering and animal fair today, most of the day, so I won't have time to join the teaser (as I'll have to write it up and all). I hope you have a good Saturday.
