Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16-9-2023 — Marc Bolan

16th September, 2023: Marc Bolan.

Right then …

It’s Saturday!

So … ?

Well, I’ll be finishing off a review, I know that!

And … ?

Doing MORE stuff for my court case.

Do you get the feeling that, despite being out of a job, that I’m going to be busy … ?

~≈Ê≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        16th September saw the death of Marc Bolan: in which year of the 1970s?

Q2)        He died in a what: car crash, plane crash or train crash?

Q3)        The band he fronted was originally called Tyrannosaurus Rex.   But was better known how?

Q4)        His break-through single was called what: “Ride a White Swan”, “Metal Guru” or “I Love to Boogie”?

Q5)        Finally … ?   What was the name of the last LP Bolan and his band released, during his lifetime: Electric Warrior, Tanx or Dandy in the Underworld?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        15th September is the feast day of Saint Catherine of Genoa.   She’s a patron saint of whom: widows, orphans or peasants?
A1)        Widows.

Q2)        15th September was the feast day of Saint Dominic in Soriano. Saint Dominic in Soriano was a what: painting, mural or statue?
A2)        Believe it or not, an incredibly miraculous painting.   (It can’t be any stranger than Saint Guinefort: the world’s only beatified greyhound.)

Q3)        15th September is Independence Day in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.   It marks the five nations’ independence from where: Spain, Portugal or Romania?
A3)        Spain.

Q4)        15th September is the International Day of Democracy.   If you’re voting for a representative official, you’re voting in a what: direct democracy or representative democracy?
A4)        A representative democracy.

Q5)        Finally … ?   Fay Wray was born on 15th September, 1907.   She played Ann Darrow in which 1933 film: King for a Night, King Kong or King of the Arena?
A5)        King Kong.

Here’s a thought …
“The prospect of being immortal doesn’t excite me, but the prospect of being a materialistic idol for four years does appeal.”
Marc Bolan.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

Hmmm … I don’t have kids, either, Olga: unless you count Jude!   I might have to light s candle to her, myself!
Have a good afternoon at the do.   Is it for type one, or type two, or both?
You know, the woman in the blue dress looks familiar … !

Very much so, Debbi.   I do know that — at one point — Clive Barker wanted to hire Pascal Laugier, the director of Martyrs, to take on the Hellraiser reboot.   Which could’ve been interesting, let’s put it that way!

Q3) T. Rex

Q4) “Ride a White Swan”

Thanks, Paul. It was for Diabetes type I. They are an association of parents, relatives and people with diabetes (all ages, there was a little girl with a pump as well), and they want to get money for research, hoping for a cure. There were a lot of people. I talked to a 114 y.o. boy whose parents run a cake shop, so just imagine... (It seems a pretty good one, as they won an award to the best cream "coca" in Catalonia). Although they brought some coca, I didn't try it. It was raining buckets when I went there, and I had to rush to return the tape recorder and the camera to the radio station before they closed it for the evening (in fact, the director was already closing). Interesting but tiring.
I'm off later today. I'm sure I'll say hi on Twitter at the very least, but let's see. It seems it rained very heavily in the area where we are staying, so I hope things are OK.
