Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 27th October 2025.

27th October, 2025.

Right: I’m officially not up, early, today.

As … ?

My weight management class is off, for the week.

It’s been replaced by a unlisted Slipper Swap.

I’m not going … as the pair I have seem OK at the moment.

Although I might just pass the details on to other people I know: just in case.

~≈🩴≈~

Just in case you’re interested … ?

I finally managed to catch a movie, on Friday: the Danny Boyle directed, 28 Years Later.

Yes: you’re right.

My written and video reviews are now available!

You don’t have to watch it … but if you want to press the Like button Youtube so thoughtfully provides, that would be appreciated … !

~≈🧟‍♂️≈~

I don’t use it much: in fact, I think there’s only one or two specific pages I use it for.

But I have a copy of Google Chrome, both on my phone and on my Mac.

As far as I can tell, both have been updated to the most recent version.

I might want to double check my copies: as, apparently, there’s a serious security issue that needs addressing …

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Mum† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        27th October is the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage.   The date was chosen by whom: UNESCO, the UPU or the WHO?

Q2)        The group that organised the day is planning to do what to various archives: digitise them, paint them or cover them in acid?

Q3)        27th October is Ohi Day.   Where: France, Greece or Hungary?

Q4)        27th October is International Religious Freedom Day.   Where: Canada, the USA or Mexico?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Barry Williams went on a shooting spree on 27th October.   In which year of the 1970s?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        26th October is the feast day of Saint Cedd.   He’s the patron saint of where: Keld, Lastingham or Myton-on-Swale?
A1)        Lastingham.   (He’s also the patron saint of Essex.)

Q2)        26th October is Angam Day: in the Republic of Nauru.   Where is the Republic: the South Pacific, the North Pacific or the South Atlantic?
A2)        The South Pacific.
Q3)        The Football Association was founded on 26th October, 1863.   In a pub called what: The Freemasons’ Tavern, the Hellfire Arms or the Sealed Knotters … ?
A3)        The FreemasonsTavern.

Q4)        The Phillips Report on BSE was issued on 26th October, 2000.   The Report covers government efforts in treating BSE.   BSE was better known as Mad what Disease?
A4)        Mad Cow Disease.

Q5)        Finally … ?   Windows 8 was released on 26th October, 2012.   Who made Windows 8: Apple, Microsoft or Google?
A5)        Microsoft.
Here’s a thought …
“It was a queer, sultry summer, the summer they electrocuted the Rosenbergs, and I didn’t know what I was doing in New York.”
From The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, October 27, 1932 – February 11, 1963.
And a Bonnie Lou song …

The next ten question set is on 31st October: it’s about “Bohemian Rhapsody”.

Your comments will be published, tomorrow morning.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Where possible, AI is avoided when writing these questions.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Great minds think, Olga!   :D   He says … !
I know what you mean about the extra hours: I managed to get the tweets for the review done.   And watch a lot of stuff on YouTube.   Including a promising-looking piece about the ZX Spectrum that turned out to have an AI generated British accent.   I could tell it was AI: the ‘Z’ came out as a Zee.   I turned over …
(I’m on Quora: and see the occasional question about which AI speech generator is best.   I usually end up telling the poster to record the audio themselves: they know how to pronounce things better than the machine does … )

        Hello, Mum!

Q1) UNESCO,

Q2) digitise them

Q3) Greece (But it says everywhere that it is the 28th of October, not the 27th)

Q4) the USA

Q5) 1978, but it was the 26th not the 27th. Not a great day for dates, if what I have checked is right.

Well, at least you didn’t have to get up early!

Sorry I missed the teaser yesterday. Maybe I'll make an exception for that (along with Duolingo) to my one-day reprieve from online everything on weekends.

I stayed offline all day on Sunday. It was a highly productive and relaxing day.
