The Daily Teaser …

Hmmm …

Well, I’m blowed if I know what’s going on, there, but it looks my my signal strengths down, for some reason.

How I deal with that, I’m blowed if I know!

At any rate, let’s move on, shall we … ?

Yesterday’s teaser saw Trevor and Kaiju putting in answers, and both getting 6 out of 6.

We also had Aussie Tim admitting he was stumpedº, but putting in a little something he’d spotted on YouTube that — Dr Who fan that I am — made me smile.

And, Kaiju, we’re going to have to see if we can’t talk you into putting a quote or two up, I’d love to see what you can dig up for us!

At any rate, let’s move onto the meat of today’s post, shall we? Here’s today’s questions, along with the ‘How To’ and License

Q1) 27th May, 1980, saw the jury at the inquest into whose death return a Misadventure verdict?

Q2) 27th May, 1964, saw the death of one of the then PM — and one of the founding fathers — of India. What was his name … ?

Q3) 27th May, 1927, saw the Ford Motor Company cease production of which iconic car?

Q4) Just as a side question, what are either of the two nicknames of that car?

Q5) 27th May, 1941, saw the sinking of which German warship … ?

Q6) And finally … 27th May, 1703, saw Tsar Peter the Great formally found which Russian city?

And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 26th May, 1799, saw the birth of which Russian writer?
A1) Alexandr Pushkin.

Q2) 26th May, 1886, saw the birth of which US singer?
A2) Al Jolson.

Q3) More to the point, in which east european country was that singer born?
A3) Lithuania.

Q4) 26th May, 1950, saw the ending of which form of rationing in the UK … ?
A4) Fuel.

Q5) 26th May, 1981, saw the PM of Italy — and his cabinet — resign over scandalous links to freemasonry: what was his name?
A5) Arnaldo Forlani.

Q6) And finally … 26th May, 1992, saw the kidnapping of software developer, Charles Geschke: which software company is he a co-founder of?
A6) Adobe Systems*.

Enjoy those, everyone … !

* Now, I’ve got to admit, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Adobe are polite enough to do versions of Adode Reader for Windoze, OS X, and Linux. These do come with warnings, obviously, but I wish more software companies would do the same.

º We’ll be introducing you to DjAlfy, at some point!

I missed the Daily Teaser, but I do have a quote for you.

“I want to die in my sleep like my grandfather... Not screaming and yelling like the passengers in his car.”

Will Shriner

~~~~~~~
“Live as you would have wished to live when you are dying”
Christian Furchtegott Gellert
~~~~~~~

“The good die young - because they see it's no use living if you've got to be good”

John Barrymore

~~~~~~~
Okay. So I managed to find 3 of the most cynical, twisted quotes possible. Maybe there are more out there, but time is limited today...
