Dead Rat Conkers: And a phone call …

Bit of a complicated one, here …

Firstly, let’s get the photos dealt with, shall we … ?

I’ve had Dave tell me about a problem one of our other neighbours — Tom, over the road from me — has had today.

It seems that the box that cover’s Tom’s gas meter had been broken into: with the net result … ?

That a) Tom’s been told he has to replace it, himself. And b) he’s been told that the dead rat in it is his problem.

Not what I’d want to hear, I know that much!

He’s got a fairly strong stomach, though, thankfully: and was happy to get rid of it, himself.

Which was a good thing, I think.

Because I know I was retching, taken the photo you can see he: as was Lorna, who lives right next door to the gas meters.

Good for him and her: because that means both have slightly less of an immediate problem!

But I do know I’ve sent the photo to Brentwood Council’s Environmental Health Department.

Just to see what they say …

And to finish off … ?

Has anyone had a call from this number … ?

Be on the lookout, folks.

It’s a scam!

I have been on a Saturday Lunch time train between East Croydon and Redhill and there was a guy on there with a live rat on his shoulder. Most of the women getting on the train moved to other carriages.I just took it in my stride as I returned home from an early Saturday morning call out. The guy said it was a good pet.

Oh, they can be: I’ve handled pet rat’s, myself: but don’t forget, Trevor, we’re talking about a wild one, here: well, a dead wild one, at any rate.

Complete with whatever diseases maybe lurking around on the body …
