Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 10-2-2024 — Libya

10th February 2025: Libya.

OK, it’s Monday: and I’m up early for my weight management meeting.

Hopefully?

After losing last week, I’ll’ve lost, this week.

I can never tell one way or the other: but, given I’ve avoided take-aways, this week?

I’m hopeful.

~≈🥙≈~

At any rate … ?

I managed to finish a movie review!

Yes: I caught the original, 1982, international theatrical cut of Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner on Friday.

And finished my written and video reviews, yesterday.

Feel free to leave me a comment, there: especially if you disagree about the film’s narration … !

~≈🔪≈~

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        Libya became independent on 10th February.   Of which year of the 1940s?

Q2)        From where: Italy, Germany or the UK?

Q3)        Libya’s Independence Day is marked when: 10th February, 15th July or 24th December?

Q4)        Libyan dictator, Muammar Gaddafi, was overthrown: then assassinated.   In which year: 2009, 2011 or 2013?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Control of Libya is currently split between the House of Representatives in Tobruk, and the Government of National Unity, where?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        Super Bowl 59 is held, today: on 9th February, 2025.   In which US city?
A1)        New Orleans.

Q2)        It’s being held in which stadium: the Superdome, Smoothie King Center or the Pan American Stadium?
A2)        The Superdome: or Caesars Superdome, if you’re being picky.   (If you’re feeling really picky, shouldn’t it be Caesars Superdome?)

Q3)        The ‘59’ in this year’s game is written ‘LIX’.   In other words, in what: Roman numerals, Arabic numerals or Mayan numerals?
A3)        Roman numerals.

Q4)        At the time of writing?   At the time of writing, which rapper is due to headline Superbowl 59’s halftime show: Grandmaster Melle Mel, Dizzy Rascal or Kendrick Lamar?
A4)        Kendrick Lamar.

Q5)        Finally … ?   Super Bowl 59 is the championship … in which American sport?
A5)        American Football.
The game was won by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Here’s a thought …
“Libya, officially the State of Libya, is a country in the Maghreb region of North Africa.”
From the Wikipedia entry on Libya.
And a song …

The next ten question set is on 19th February: it’s about EastEnders.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum … !

Popcorn, Olga … ?   Now, I have to admit, I like popcorn.   Well … sugared or toffee-coated popcorn, I love: but can’t necessarily have, what with the diabetes.
Salted popcorn, though … ?   As much as I like a lot of salt on my dinner, salted popcorn’s just a bit too dry …

Inverlair’s the place, Debbi?   Unless you’re thinking of Inverness, Inverlochy or Inver … ?   (Inverlochy House is in New Zealand.

Q1) 1947 (everywhere it says that it was officially independent in 1951, but I think you might be referring to this)

Q2) Italy

Q3) 24th December

Q4) 2011

Q5) Tripoli (but it seems there is a Government of National Stability now? Everything might have change by tomorrow. In some countries things change so much and so quickly that it seems impossible to keep up).
I hope the weight loss session went well. I left you a comment on the Blade Runner review post, although I didn't talk about the voice over. I am not sure what I think about it. It makes it easier to follow, but perhaps not in the way intended.
Oh, and I prefer salty popcorn. I've never liked sweet. And in the USA they add tonnes of things to it, like melted butter, making it really unhealthy when it is not too bad if you don't go overboard with things...

Inverlair. That was it. I ended up reading the novel "The Cooler" I think it was. It's been a while. :)
