Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 5-10-2025 — “Love Me Do”

5th October, 2025: “Love Me Do”.

It’s officially official: courtesy of the local barbers, I’ve had a haircut!

I’m thankful!

Frankly, I was getting a little bit shaggy.

~≈💈≈~

I’m not one for dancing: or watching people dance.

Or watching dance competitions.

But I’m very aware that Alex Kingston — best known as Dr Who’s River Song — is taking part in this year’s version of Strictly Come Dancing.

And is at the top of the leader board, after last night’s samba.

Well done, her!

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        “Love Me Do” was released on 5th October.   Of which year of the 1960s?

Q2)        The song was the first single by whom: the Beatles, the Who or the Rolling Stones?

Q3)        The song was written by whom: George Harrison, Lennon and McCartney or Ringo Starr?

Q4)        What was the b-side called: “The Saints (When the Saints Go Marching In)”, “PS I Love You” or “Ask Me Why”?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Who produced “Love Me Do”: Joe Meek, George Martin or Trevor Horn?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        The first US Open was held on 4th October.   Of which year of the 1890s?
A1)        1895.

Q2)        The event was held at Newport Country Club in Newport.   Club, town and event were held in which IUS state?
A2)        Rhode Island.

Q3)        The winner was Horace Rawlins.   Rawlins was from which country of the UK?
A3)        England.

Q4)        The modern US Open is one of four whats: majors, minors or modes?
A4)        Majors.

Q5)        Finally … ?   If you competing in the US Open, what sport are you playing?
A5)        Golf.
Here’s a quote …
“Love, love me do.
You know I love you,
I'll always be true,
So please, love me do.
Whoa, love me do.”
From the song, “Love Me Do.”
A clue …

And an earworm …

The next ten question set is on 24th October: it’s about Zambia

Your comments will be published, tomorrow morning.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Yeah, I saw those reports, too, Olga.   And messy is putting it mildly.   These situations will be, I think: the old cliché, about the ‘fog of war’ springs to mind.   Either way?   I’m glad these things are rare.
        Have a good day, today!

Hello, Mum!   (It was ‘England’ I wanted, Mum, rather than ‘Shanklin’.)

Tall, you say, Debbi … ?   I’d probably get a good view of their nostrils, then!
Hopefully, today’s are just as short … um …
Did I mention Alex Kingston knows how to dance?   Alex Kingston knows how to dance!

Yes, thankfully. Good on you for the haircut. I'm due for one soon as well.
So far the day has been quite bad, weatherwise. I wasn't sure if the event would go ahead, but I walked by the place where it was supposed to be taken place on my way back home, and despite the rain, they were there. How many people will turn up is anybody's guess, but perhaps by the afternoon, that is when I am planning on going, the weather will have improved.
