Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 9th October 2025.

9th October, 2025.

Right, then: I am officially up, early.

And heading out for a job fair arranged by my Work Coach, my Job Centre Case worker.

Am I looking forward to it … ?

Nope!

It’s a lot of faff, to be frank.

And a lot of faff that’s not necessarily going to be help: at least, that’s my thinking, going on my experience of these things.

Heigh … ho … !

~≈🧑🏼‍💼≈~

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga†, Irene‡ and Debbi§ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Here’s a thought …
“If the audience can’t hear what you’re saying, what is the point?   It is all about communication.”
Donald Sinden, 9 October 1923 – 12 September 2014.
And a song …

The next ten question set is on 24th October: it’s about Zambia

Your comments will be published, tomorrow morning.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

I’ve tried to avoid using AI in writing this quiz.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

Do you mean the iPod shuffle, Olga?   They weren’t bad … if you were jogging!   But the lack of control put people off, I think.   But you didn’t need an Apple ID to use iTunes: you could import songs into it from your CD collection, without having to sign up for the account.   (I don’t remember the app, itself, using much in the way of space, Olga.   But the associated media libraries could be huge: that’s why I’ve had libraries on an external drive for the past decade.   I still do: even though my current Mac has plenty of space.)
As for the account, itself?   Yes, you’re right: you needed it to buy things from the iTunes Store: but it doesn’t seem as invasive as the account Microsoft seem to be insisting you have: if you buy a new PC, you need one just to log into the thing!
You’re right: we DO need a ’net connection, Olga.   I’m lucky I can afford one: but know at least three people who can’t afford one.   (One woman gets by with the very limited data on a smart phone.   The other two … ?   Well … )

That’s OK, Irene¶!   If it’s and help, Bugs Bunny’s handy with gremlins!

§        Oh, tell me about it, Debbi!   (Are you using Tahoe, Debbi?   macOS 26?   Have you seen what they’ve done with Launchpad!?)

¶        Pointless trivia, Irene: Roald Dahl’s first children’s book was called The Gremlins.

Yes, it was an i-pod shuffle. And yes, I know you could import directly to it, but you needed to have an Itunes account even to upload free songs from there. I remember my cousin told me the App consumed a fair amount of memory and also slowed the computer down. Audios don't usually occupy a lot of memory, but videos are another story. I don't really keep anything. I have quite a few DVDs and a few Blue-rays I bought, but I don't have time to watch even those, and I can't see much point in accumulating such things. Having personal things and documents saved up, one has to, I guess, but as for the rest... I used to be interested in that years back, but now I prefer not to have too many things. I don't need them, and I already have more books (even in electronic form) than I have time to read.
I hope today's workshop isn't as bad as you think. It's their job to try and find ways to help you, and they have to be seen to be doing their job, even if it is useless... A sad waste of time all around.
