Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 19th January 2026

19th January, 2026.

Sodding X … !

It’s very frustrating … !

I’ve had my posts limited: as, apparently, I’m posting potential spam.

The frustrating thing … ?

Is that the automated Customer Help chat bot?

Is exactly that: automated, very repetitive … and can’t give me a time it’ll be finished.

Oh, and tells me I have to sign up for Premium, to talk to someone human about it.

What does Elon Musk want?   Apart from blood?

~≈Ç≈~

About the only upside to this … ?

Is that I saw a silly post on the service.

This one:

So?

I tried it, myself, and got this picture:

I don’t for sure: but isn’t that a pregnancy test?

Quite what’s happening, there, I don’t know!

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        19th January is Kokborok Day, in Tripura.   Where is Tripura: India, Bengal or Pakistan?

Q2)        Journalist, Hans Massaquoi, was born on 19th January, 1926.   In which German city: Berlin, Hamburg or Munich?

Q3)        Formula One driver, Jenson Button, was born on 19th January, 1980.   Who was he driving for, when he retired in 2017: Benetton, Renault, McLaren or Honda?

Q4)        The British East India Company captured Aden: on 19th January, 1839.   Where is Aden: Saudi Arabia, Yemen or Jordan?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Christopher Nolan won the Whitbread Prize: on 19th January of which year of the 1980s?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        Albert DeSalvo was sentenced to life imprisonment on 18th January.   Of which year of the 1960s?
A1)        1967.

Q2)        DeSalvo was accursed, but never convicted, of being the Boston … whom?
A2)        The Boston Strangler.

Q3)        In a 1968 film of the same name, DeSalvo was played by whom: Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis or George Sanders?
A3)        Tony Curtis.

Q4)        February of that year saw DeSalvo escape from a what: high security hospital, high security prison or Guantanamo Bay?
A4)        A high security hospital called Bridgewater State Hospital.

Q5)        Finally … ?   He was eventually imprisoned, where: MCI - Cedar Junction, MCI - Concord or MCI - Lancaster?
A5)        MCI - Cedar Junction.   It had been MCI - Walpole, when DeSalvo was there.   ‘MCI’ stood for Massachusetts Correctional Institution.
Here’s a thought …
“It is not worth my while to manufacture in three countries only; but I can find it very worthwhile to make it for the whole world.”
Attributed to James Watt, 19 January 1736 – 25 August 1819.
And a song …

The next ten question set is on 4th February: it’s about the Aldous Huxley novel, Brave New World.

Your comments, and today’s answers, will be published in tomorrow’s Teaser.

AI is avoided when writing these questions.

Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   (It was Cedar Junction, Mum, rather than Concorde.)

Rampton, you say, Olga?   I always thought the place was in Essex, but apparently not.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed on the X front.   But it’s looking like I may have to either change my email, come off the service … or pay money to talk to a person about the timing.
None of the options are satisfying …

I think someone tried muting him, during the election, Debbi.   And missed …

Q1) India

Q2) Hamburg

Q3) McLaren

Q4) Yemen

Q5) 1988
I also visited Ashworth, when I was working in the outskirts of Manchester, in a medium secure unit, but I never went to Broadmoor. I went to Rampton one day a week for about 6 months or so. It was interesting, but not a place where I'd like to work in longterm. Medium or low-secure units were a bit easier on the security front.

Oh, I forgot. By the way, not a pregnancy test, but a digital thermometer, as it seems the computer (AI) is ill, so somebody is looking after it... (TLC, I guess).

What a shame. :)

I hear the BBC plans to make original shows for YouTube. This should get interesting. :)

Whenever I think of Formula One, I think of Nigel Mansell. :)
