Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16th January 2026.

16th January, 2026.

Right, then: it’s now Friday.

And … ?

I’ve remember to take my Mounjaro … !

Having to inject myself is a much needed chore that’s easy to forget.

But?

I’m very aware it’s exactly that: a much needed chore.

~≈💉≈~

I *think* I’m having issues with X: the site formerly known as Twitter.

As I’m sure Olga and Debbi will tell you, it’s getting harder to find my posts on the site.

I’ve JUST had a word with the site’s automated Help item: and have a lot of stuff to go through, as a result.

But … ?

Apparently, I can talk to a human … if I subscribe to X’s premium service.

Money for which, I don’t have.

Remind me to tell you about the phrase, ‘urinating dog’.

I’m tempted to use a lot of them …

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring ten out of ten, and Mum on nine.

Q5)        Finally … ?   16th January id the feast day of Saint Joseph Vaz.   He’s known as the Apostle of where: Ceylon, Sicily or Sardinia?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

“I can hold a note as long as the Chase National Bank.”
Ethel Merman, January 16, 1908 – February 15, 1984.
And an FKA Twigs song …

The next ten question set is on 4th February: it’s about the Aldous Huxley novel, Brave New World.

Your comments, and today’s answers, will be published in tomorrow’s Teaser.

AI is avoided when writing these questions.

Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   (It was released in 1990, Mum, rather than 1996.)

†        Eraserhead’s not weird, Olga.   Well … not compared to Zardoz, it’s not!   (I gave up on Zardoz, after about ten minutes: it’s just too odd!)
I’m not too sure on the t-shit front: although the Ron t-shirt needs tweaking: it’s needs to be in capitals to make it look more like the Frankie shirts.   But I used to hand out ‘Nik Nak’s Old Peculiar’ t-shirts at the live quizzes I ran: they cost a fortune to make, but I charged a lot …
And yes: I remember the phrase: it was all over the place, wasn’t it?   I know Eraserhead and The Elephant Man were in black and white.   But I always imagined them being in colour: he had a depth to monochrome few others could match.   The Lady in the Radiator?   Those curtains are a deep red, I think: something that crops up in Twin Peak’s Red Room.

‡        It wouldn’t surprise me, Debbi.   You’ve heard of The Archers, yes?   The radio show on BBC Radio Four?   The back office has maps of the area, and the individual locations: and has entire family trees!
Tolkien could possibly be jealous: and Star Trek possibly needs to catch up!
Talking of which … ?   Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is now airing: and yes, that is Holly Hunter …
