Back it up, Back it, Back it up, up, up … !

Wowsa!

Almost done!

Well, when I say done …

Do you remember me writing, yesterday, about re-arranging the various exterior drives, so I’ve effectively got a bigger back-up drive?

Well, I’ve finally managed to get the copying across done!

And managed to use Time Machine to back my main hard drive.

Which took a while, I know that!

Or, I should say, the initial back up tool a while; after all I’ve just backed-up about 75 gigabytes of data.

Now that’s done, Time Machine will — once an hour — do what’s called incremental back-ups; in other words, it’ll only add to the collection of backed up data, as and when it changes.

So that’s the big job out of the way!

Now, I’m grateful, and lucky, that I’ve got both a Mac, and the exterior drives to use with Time Machine.

But having not used Windoze, I wouldn’t know where to start, software wise; although I’m assuming that the on-board System Restore would work pretty much in the same sort of way.

I know Gwen’s had to use it, I might she if she’d mind putting a comment up …

But I do know I’ve find this, after a quick Googling …
