Security, Security, My Kingdom for …

Have you ever had one of those emails … ?

Well, you’ve probably had several.

Haven’t you?

Haven’t you?

But I had something crop up in my mailbox, this morning.

The message that I’ve posted up, here.

That first screen grab, there …

Along with the site it directed me too, happily telling me all about the government grants I could put in for.

That had been raved about by CNN. And NBC. And ABC. And CBS. And — phew — Fox News.

Didn’t mention the BBC, or ITV, or any British channel that I recognised …

Now, I’m not saying the site — or email — in question was a scam.

But there seems enough pages on various newsites, telling us that this sort of scam is geting more noticeably, to get me thinking that it wasn’t worth following through on.

Free lunches always cost, don’t they … ?

•••••

Actually, there’s something else, I thought I’d mention.

You remember me saying, a little while back, about Facebook, and its reluctance to use the Panic Button supplied by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre? Otherwise known as CEOP?

Will, it look’s like it’s possibly come to a head.

Or a bit of a pothole, at any rate.

Facebook’s announced that, while it has ‘no objection in principle’ to the panic button, it won’t be putting it onto the main part of the site.

Just into the security section.

Hmmm …

I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing.

I’m fairly sure that — if I were a parent — I’d be a little reassured, seeing it on my kids FB home pages.

Let’s leave that there, shall we … ?

I never knew that we had a Federal Government over here. Our mob call them-selves "Central Government".

I am sure its a scam.

I convinced it is, as well, Trevor: it was the fact there was absolutely no UK tv stations listed that got me!

Oooh, and Maureen, I meant to say ’Ta’ for commenting, when I got the chance!

’Ta’!

I with you on this, I’m blowed if I know what their problem is …
