The Daily Teaser — 16-9-2014: The O Zone

Hmmm …

That seemed to go … oddly …

I had an interview, yesterday: in Romford, so you know.

Which was … a bit … odd.

I think the interview went well enough, I think.

The company’s office, though … ?   Was chock full of new model Macs: not an problem, at least for me.

But about eight or so brand spanking new Macs: in an office in a converted flat above a independent supermarket, in an off the beaten track part of Romford … ?

That was odd, certainly.

The pay structure, on the other hand … ?   That was definitely off!   If I’d understood it correctly, we’d only get paid for the second ten hour shift … if we’d made a sale …

Which sounded distinctly dubious …

Here’s hoping the interview I’ve got today, in Chelmsford, is less dubious.   I could do with a job that pays regularly … !

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: and scoring four out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?   Here they are, along with the How ToLicense and video …

Q1) 16th September is the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer.   The ozone layer is in which part of Earth’s atmosphere: the Mesosphere, Stratosphere or Troposphere … ?
Q2) The Ozone layer has higher concentrations of ozone than the rest of the atmosphere.   Ozone is a form of which gas: nitrogen, helium or oxygen … ?
Q3) Ozone in this part of the atmosphere is made by reactions with what: electricity, ultraviolet light or x-rays?
Q4) Ozone shields Earth from 97 to 99 percent of the Sun’s medium frequency what: ultraviolet light or infrared light?
Q5) Finally … 1985, saw scientists1 announce they’d discovered a hole in the Ozone Layer.   Over which continent: Africa, Asia or the Antarctic?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 15th September, 1254, saw the birth of explorer, Marco Polo.   In what’s now which European country?
A1) Italy.
Q2) More to the point, in which city … ?
A2) Venice.
Q3) His book, Divisament du Monde is usually called what, in English … ?
Q4) In his book, Polo refers to southern China as Manji, and to northern China as what: Cathay, Kathy or Nihon … ?
A4) Cathay.
Q5) Finally … Polo famously met the then ruler of China: who was that ruler … ?
I’ll leave you with this thought …
“So I’m going to go on and work on preserving the ozone layer, encouraging everyone to recycle.”
Dean Stockwell.
And this tune.

Well, it IS rather catchy …

*        ‘Dark’ is definitely the term, Debbi!   (It’s one of Moffat’s better episodes, as well!)
