Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 2-9-2016

Oh, now that’s ridiculous.

I work for a living.

Or, at least, I try to.

And … ?

Will, I’ve seen my hours for next week.

Bloody Ridiculous,’ is putting it mildly.

I’ve got eleven hours.

I’m contracted for sixteen.

And been rota’ed for between 20 and 24.

Understandably?

I’m not a happy bunny: I’m an unhappy bunny intent on having a word with his boss.

And I’m an unhappy bunny thinking about the term ‘Constructive Dismissal.’

Let’s — very angrily — move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: scoring five out of five in the process.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 2nd August, 1455, saw the birth of John Cicero, Elector of Brandenburg.   As Elector of Brandenburg, he’d’ve elected whom: the Tsar of all the Russias, the Holy Roman Emperor or Kaiser?
Q2) Henry Hudson discovered what we now call Hudon’s Bay: on 2nd September, 1610.   The Bay is on the coast of which country?
Q3) Germany began its occupation of where: on 2nd September, 1914?
Q4) Which country was re-admitted to the Commonwealth: on 2nd September, 1989?
Q5) Finally … 2nd September, 1921, saw the birth of journalist and broadcaster, Alan Whicker.   Which TV series did he present for many years?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 1st September, 1831, saw the formal founding of the Order of Saint Gregory the Great.   By which Pope: Gregory 16th, Gregory 17th or Theodoros 2nd?
Q2) The Tremont Street Subway opened: on 1st September, 1897.   It’s the oldest subway in the USA: and in which US city?
A2) Boston, Massachusetts.
Q3) Georges Méliès released A Trip to the Moon: on 1st September, 1902.   The film’s considered to be one of the earliest films in which genre: western, science fiction or crime?
Q4) The last version of which German medal was instituted: on 1st September, 1939?
A4) The Iron Cross.
Q5) Finally … Which former Soviet republic celebrates its independence: on 1st September?
I’ll leave you with this thought …
“My favorite food from my homeland is Guinness. My second choice in Guinness. My third choice - would have to be Guinness.”
Peter O’Toole, 2 August 1932 – 14 December 2013.
And this tune …

Have a good day: and a better week than I will, next week.

*        I think, Debbi, replacing the TV with a halfway decent radio, might just be the thing!

I'm all for radio too. Sorry, I have a wedding today and I've been hit by a sudden deadline for Monday, so any time I am not out of the house I'll be working on that (and then I have an unexpected meeting on Tuesday and I'll have to work on whatever comes out of that meeting and I have something from before I needed to finish for the following Monday)... I hope things go whichever way is best with work...
