Tonight’s Gig — And In Lieu of the usual Mug Shots

I present you another poster. Oh, and a halfway decent shot of the King Harold. Obviously taken on a nice summer’s day, I think.

It’s got to be said, tonight was … quiet.

Pretty much as I’d been expected, given that John & Roger – the Tom & Jerry’s, in other words – and Cath and Billie, the Funky Monkeys, were snowed in, and the Patroxes were on holiday. And, although we actually started with five teams – including one with bar babe, Marie, and her mates, and Roses’ mob, calling themselves the Bobby Dazzlers – feeling sympathetic, and joining us for the evening, along with the Pancake Mixers, the Three Muscatears, and Posin’ Joe himself.

But, if the weather hadn’t been as bad as it was, and two teams hadn’t dropped out by the end of the evening, we’d’ve had nearer eight.

Which means two things.

Firstly, the bonus pot could’ve gone higher than it actually did. Although I’m am pleased to say next weeks will be a minimum of £44•50.

Because nobody answered this … “Who directed “The Evil Dead”, in which year, and with who in the lead role?”. To which the answer’s are Sam Raimi, 1982, and Bruce Campbell.

And secondly I had to have – with some help from Joe and Marie – a bit of a chat with Barney the manager, and his assistant, Dan. Who I swear I’m going to start referring to as Deputy Dan, the first chance I get! But it was a conversation that I was both expecting and dreading, but went a little better than I’d thought it would. But the pair of them are sensible fella’s, and keen to do well. And VERY helpful; — A-Boards a-go-go, for starters.

But, anyway, here’s the questions I used; — number 69, in an ongoing series!

Just heard from Deputy Dan, over at the King Harold, that Marie has now left the pub’s employ; – which is a shame in one sense, but I did get the impression that she’d had one or two habits that weren’t looked on favourably.

If those were were I think they were, then I’m not to surprised, and commend their quick action.
