The Teaser, the Teaser, to Morder … To MerDÄ … HOW do you spell that …?

You know, you can usually tell if I’m struggling for inspiration.

I always like to post up at least five questions for the Daily Teaser. That’s the bare minimum.

But it also tells you I’m struggling for ideas. Monday’s Teaser was a doddle to write, I know that. Usually, the more stuff that’s gone on, on a given date, the more I can use to tease you with.

At any rate, here’s today’s questions …

Q1) Today in 1962, saw which Hollywood star found dead in her bed?

Q2) On the subject’s of deaths, which British actor — and Ealing comedies star — died today in 2000?

Q3) 5th August also saw the death of Richard Burton; but in which year of the 1980s?

Q4) 5th August, 1827, saw the birth of Deodoro de Fonseco; who was later to become the first president of which American nation?

Q5) And finally, today in 1975, Britain’s Forestry Commission announced that which disease was spreading?

And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 4th August, 70AD, saw the destruction of the Second Temple, in which Middle Eastern City?

A1) Jerusalem. (According to popular belief, the only remaining part of it, is what’s now called the Wailing Wall.)

Q2) On 4th August, 1914, and as a result of Belgium being invaded, Britain declared war on which country?

A2) Germany.

Q3) On this day in 2002, Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman went missing; in which Cambridgeshire town?

A3) Soham.

Q4) August 4th, 1900, saw the birth of which member of the Royal Family?

A4) Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.

Q5) 4th August, 1901, saw the birth of which American Jazz musician?

A5) Louis Armstrong.

Q6) And finally, August the 4th, 1892, saw the death of which Nursery rhyme character’s parents?

A6) Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ Borden’s parents.

Enjoy those!! I’ll catch you later!
