The Daily Teaser …

Whoah!

It really is all quiet on the Western Front, on yesterday’s Teaser!

We just had Trevor and Andrea taking part, yesterday, with Trevor getting the Official Clap..

Tim, you’re Officially Slacking, mate!

Actually, I do know that we were going over the specifications for Tim’s Desktop. Or trying to; for some reason, the eMachines 3230 isn’t listed on the eMachines site. But Google for it, and you’re looking at dozens of references …

We’ve at least managed to track down the basics specs for, by doing quite a bit of digging; looks like the Xubuntu version of Koala might just be the thing, there, Tim, given the RAM …

Let’s move on, shall we?

Shall we?

Yes, let’s …

Here’s today’s questions, along with the ‘How To’ and License

Q2) In which US state is that city?

Q3) More to the point, what was the name of the man who killed JFK?

Q4) On the same lines, who killed JFK’s killer?

Q7) 22nd November, 1990, saw which famous British politicain stand down?

Q8) Five years later, 22nd November, 1995, saw which serial killer sentenced?

Q9) Ooh, another death; which famed pirate died on the North Carolina coast, on 22nd November, 1718?

Q10) And finally; two Chicago TV stations are hijacked, today, in 1987; by men dressed as which stuttering TV character?

And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 21st November, 164 BC, saw Judas Maccabeus re-dedicate the Temple, in Jerusalem; which Jewish festival celebrates this?

A1) Hannukah. (Also spelt Channukah, depending on the dialect of Yiddish … )

Q2) A few centuries later, 21st November, 1974, 21 people are killed in bombing attacks by the IRA; in which English city?

A2) Birmingham.

Q3) As well as being World Hello Day, 21st November is — according to the UN — World what Day?

A3) World Television Day.

Q4) 21st November, 1965, saw the birth of which Star Trek: Deep Space Nine actor?

A4) Alexander Siddig. (Who was originally credited as Siddig El Fadil, and born as Siddig El Tahir El Fadil El Siddig Abderrahman Mohammed Ahmed Abdel Karim El Mahdi. His friends and co-workers usually call him Sid … Hang on, El Mahdi … ?)

Q5) And finally; today in 1993, saw the death of actor/director, Bill Bixby; which US TV series did he star in?

A5) The Incredible Hulk.

Enjoy those, everyone!

Paul
This is why this Sunday is the day to make your Xmas Pudding.
Traditionally puddings were made on or immediately after the Sunday "next before Advent.
This day became Stir-up Sunday. Traditionally everyone in the household, or at least every child, gave the mixture a stir, and made a wish while doing so.
Stir-up Sunday is an informal term in the Anglican Church for the last Sunday before the season of Advent.
The term comes from the opening words of the Collect for the day in the Book of Common Prayer of 1549.
“Stir up, we beseech thee, O Lord, the wills of thy faithful people; that they, plenteously bringing forth the fruit of good works, may of thee be plenteously rewarded; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”
