The Daily Teaser

Hmmm …

Lord knows what’s going on, there, but do you remember me saying — yesterday — that I was having having trouble with Safari, the native Mac OS X web browser … ?

Well, I think I’ve tracked down the problem: it looks like it’s a good ol’ Permissions problem.

Lets get moving on, shall we … ? Before I bore you to tears … !

“Government is a contrivance of human wisdom to provide for human wants. People have the right to expect that these wants will be provided for by this wisdom.”

“I look forward to these confrontations with the press to kind of balance up the nice and pleasant things that come to me as president.”

“I think what's going on in Guantanamo Bay and other places is a disgrace to the U.S.A. I wouldn't say it's the cause of terrorism, but it has given impetus and excuses to potential terrorists to lash out at our country and justify their despicable acts.”

“The best way to enhance freedom in other lands is to demonstrate here that our democratic system is worthy of emulation.”

“War may sometimes be a necessary evil. But no matter how necessary, it is always an evil, never a good. We will not learn how to live together in peace by killing each other's children.”

“You just have to have a simple faith.”

Quotes by Jimmy Carter (39th US President) born 1 October 1924

3. John Philip Sousa (thank you Clifton Webb)
4. International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg (thank you Spencer Tracy)
5. Keith Peter Thomas Francis John Duffy

1. The third. I just say that because it seems right.
2. Thanks for the softball question. Philippines.
3. Marina Band? That has to be Sousa. Why else would you ask?
4. Hmm, too early for the McCarthy era. After WWII. So I'll go with Nurnberg Trials. But I think it was called Nuremberg then.
5. I'll say it was a boy.
6. In truth, no idea. I know who Robert Palmer is, but not Bruce. Ah well.

I’ve said this before, and no doubt will, again: Trevor and Kaiju are my Dream Team, and have kept me on my toes for the past Lord lnows how long.

Alexandra, on the other hand, is — for sheer persistence — is the best pure Sportsperson I think I’ve seen in a LONG time of running quizzes!
